Judges aren’t the same. Depending on their characters, there are different types of judges. If you want your case to succeed, consider understanding these judges. Know how to handle them. Here are a few of these judges you should familiarize yourself with.


The All-Knowing Judge

This is the kind of judge who seems to know everything about your case before you even start presenting it. They also seem to know all the legal implications of your case. You don’t know if the judge has gone through your submissions. To you, the judge has a predetermined ruling for your case before it even begins. This type of judge will want to shut you off. In this case, don’t get annoyed. Instead. Ask him/her politely to give you a chance to be hard. The judge won’t deny you a chance to be hard. However, you need to be polite when dealing with this type of judge. Otherwise, he/she may make your case difficult.

Indecisive Judge

Another type of judge is the indecisive judge. This judge doesn’t easily make his/her mind. Of course, the work of a judge is to make critical decisions. They tend to hold off decisions. Dealing with this judge is simple. What you should do is to offer him/her clear facts. Also, give him/her uncomplicated solutions to any problem. This will persuade the judge to rule in your favor. Even more, you will make his/her work easy. Focus on the facts. Focus on the law. State your case clearly. Don’t hide information. Don’t use complicated submissions. Ensure that you communicate coherently.

Bench-Weary Judge

These are judges who went into this profession to make a difference. However, over the years, things changed. Things were jaded for this judge. Of course, your client may be very genuine. He/she may be in dire circumstances. However, this type of judge will look bored and tired. He/she will be unwilling to act on behalf of the client. At times, you may think that he/she isn’t paying attention or listening. In some instances, he/she may start doing other stuff like talking to a clerk. If you find yourself in these situations, consider pausing in silence. Here, the judge will be forced to stop and listen to you. When you have his attention, consider continuing with your presentations.

Other Types of Judges
