Is Bitcoin Headed to Zero? / Currencies / Bitcoin
"40% of bitcoin investors are now underwater"
Charlie Munger is Berkshire Hathaway's co-chairman, and on April 30 at the firm's shareholder meeting, he said:
[Bitcoin] is stupid because it's very likely to go to zero.
Berkshire Hathaway chairman Warren Buffet also expressed a negative sentiment toward the cryptocurrency.
Bitcoin's recent price action appears to support the views of the two billionaire investors, at least at this juncture.
Here's a CNBC headline from the evening of May 9:
Bitcoin dips below $30,000, drops more than 56% from its all-time high

How to Ensure Financial Stability for Your Family / Personal_Finance / Learning to Invest
Financial stability is crucial in maintaining a happy and healthy family life. Everyone knows that having money is beneficial, and the lack of it can make life very difficult, whether you are single or raising children. Having a family carries a lot of responsibilities because you no longer think only for yourself but also for your spouse and children. They need the assurance that they can live comfortably in a healthy home environment, eat healthily, and not lack in their essential needs. In addition, the children should be able to study to ensure a better future. These are responsibilities that come with raising a family.
Financial stability means consistently meeting household needs and living a comfortable life while having enough set aside for emergencies. It is not about being rich; rather, it is handling whatever finances you have on hand responsibly.

RECESSION RISKS 2023 / Economics / Recession 2023
Firstly it does not actually matter if a recession materialises during 2023 or not all that matters is most people THINK it's going to happen, for asset prices discount the future which is why today stock prices are falling even if that is not being reflected in the stock indices due to the Stocks Bear Market Tornado which I will cover in depth in a forthcoming stocks article. Nevertheless there is a RISK of inflation that I have been flagging a warning of a good 6 months BEFORE the current Yield Curve inversion.

The Future of the Dollar Seems So Bright It’s Blinding Gold / Commodities / Gold and Silver 2022
While the USDX rushes up without looking back, gold is running... out of power. What could the next dollar highs mean for the precious metals market?
In short, practically everything that I wrote in yesterday’s analysis remains up-to-date. Based on the relative valuations and pre-market price movement, I wrote that junior miners were likely to decline below their rising support line, and I moved the exit price for the current short position in the GDXJ lower (it seems that it will gain even more shortly).
Indeed, the GDXJ fell like a stone in the water, and it pierced through the above-mentioned support line without looking back. Thanks to remaining in the short position, we were able to benefit from the breakdown below the support line.

Take Advantage When Markets Succumb to Fear / Stock-Markets / Financial Markets 2022
Last Wednesday’s rate hike by the Federal Reserve failed to convince investors that the central bank can tame inflation without wrecking the economy.
Subsequent remarks by Jerome Powell insisting that the economy isn’t vulnerable to recession were also unconvincing – especially given the Fed chairman’s lousy forecasting track record (“transitory” inflation has proven to be more like intractable inflation).
The good news for gold holders is that the safe-haven metal is holding up better than conventional financial assets. Stocks are breaking down at the same time as purportedly “risk-free” Treasury bonds are collapsing in value at a rate never before seen.
Sentiment gauges are showing extreme pessimism among the public. Most say the country is headed in the wrong direction and give President Joe Biden terrible marks for his handling of the economy.

How to Recognize a Less\ Than Obvious Opportunity (In focus: Corn) / InvestorEducation / Elliott Wave Theory
When I was growing up, my father owned and operated a furniture manufacturing company. Its products stocked the shelves of several well-known retail stores across the country, including Walmart.
On the cover of one of his most popular products, a simple D.I.Y. end table, was a picture of the fully assembled table with a framed photograph of a smiling young girl holding a Persian cat. That young girl was me, and the cat was my childhood pet Princess.
Naturally one day the inevitable happened. My dad and I were shopping at Walmart, and we passed a woman with one of his boxed DIY tables in her cart. She looked at me, then at the face staring back at her on the cover of the box, and then again at me.
Visibly shaken, she braved her way over to my dad and asked if, in fact, I was the girl on the box. Without skipping a beat, he grinned and said he saw the resemblance but no, I was not her and we were on our way. I couldn't help looking back to see the woman, standing there glued in place with an utterly baffled expression.

The Stocks Stealth BEAR Market / Stock-Markets / Stocks Bear Market
Dear Reader
The stock market continues to trend in line with my expectations for an mid April higher low that I am sure will be accompanied by maximum fears of a CRASH to NEW bear market lows, which without any road map would be ones natural instincts to expect, i.e. most market commentators tend to be bullish AFTER stocks have gone up and BEARISH AFTER stocks have fallen. Instead with a road map, I am not seeing any reason to not continue to expect stocks to bottom and then rally strongly into May and thus I wll continue accumulating target stocks as and when opportunities arise over the coming week whilst most will kick the can down the road out of fear of new lows.

A Strengthening US Dollar Is A Double-Edged Sword / Currencies / US Dollar
The US Dollar continues to attract capital from investors all over the world. But could this be a double-edged sword for US stocks? As capital flocks to the USD, this in turn hurts US multinationals as they need to convert their weak foreign currency profits back into USD.
The USD safe-haven trade may eventually trigger a broad and deep selloff in US stocks. As the USD continues to strengthen, corporate profits for US multinationals will shrink or disappear.
US Multinational $1 Billion Revenue Example:
- $1 billion in revenue-generating a 15% net profit with a net neutral 0% currency translation equals a $150 million profit.
- $1 billion in revenue-generating a 15% net profit with a negative -15% unfavorable currency translation expense equals a $0 profit!
In addition, the impact of inflation on the global consumer will lead to a pullback in consumer spending which will further reduce corporate revenues and profits. The combination of the global currency dislocation along with the economic cool off will bring on a global recession.

Russian Sanctions Stagflation Driver / Economics / Stagflation
Knock out 20% of the world's gas exports and 10% of the worlds exports and how can you not expect even higher inflation. Even worse for Europe where several nations such as Germany rely on Russia for upto 40% of their gas. Whilst for the UK 4% of russian gas may not sound like much but the impact has been on gas prices that had already soared several fold before the Ukraine invasion have now doubled once more. with the risks that the sanctions blitzkrieg prompts Russia to pull the plug on EU gas that will trigger gas rationing among many nations such as Germany and Italy which means INDUSTRY will take a hit thus further disrupting supply chains and hence continuing to put upwards pressure on prices as component and finished goods supply chains are further disrupted which easily translates into EU inflation surging higher by an additional 2% and reduction in GDP of at least 0.5%.

Gold and Silver Outperform Stocks and Bonds during Stagflation / Commodities / Gold and Silver 2022
As turmoil in financial markets unnerves investors, a larger economic crisis may be starting to unfold.
The Federal Reserve’s first steps toward tightening monetary policy are exposing vulnerabilities in the highly leveraged economy. The Fed spent years injecting the economy with artificial stimulus. Now it is trying to take that stimulus away without causing a crash.
On Wednesday, the Fed raised its benchmark interest rate by 50 basis points. That was the central bank’s biggest hike in 22 years.

Stock Market Volatility – Traders Must Adapt Or Risk Losing Their Shirts / Stock-Markets / Stock Market 2022
Market volatility remains elevated and may be setting the stage for spikes even higher than we have already experienced.
Global money is continuing to flow into the US Dollar making it one of the primary safe-haven trades. This may eventually trigger a broader and deeper selloff in U.S. stocks. As the USD continues to strengthen corporate profits for US multinationals will begin to disappear.
It’s imperative to assess your trading plan, portfolio holdings, and cash resources. Experienced traders know what their downside risk is and adapt as needed to the current market environment.
If you still have money invested in Amazon, Netflix, PayPal, or one of the many other stocks that are sinking fast there is no easy way out. Your options are:
- Hold tight and “hope” for a rally to recover part of your money.
- Reduce some of your position to “limit your downside” in case the bottom really falls out, and then sell the balance after a bounce of 5-8%.
- Move to cash, “bite the bullet”, get a good night’s sleep, take a break, reassess, and live to come back and trade another day.

Why is vaping a trend amongst teens? / Politics / Social Issues
The main objective at the start of the electric smoking industry was to get standard cigarette smokers to make the switch to an e-cigarette and combat their nicotine addictions. Though there are still millions of people who still use cigarettes, many people did decide to make the switch. Par of the electric smoking industry’s success is owed to a group of people that the industry had not taken into consideration, teenagers. As the e-smoking business grew, teenagers all over the world started using it, but is that a good thing?
