Savings rates rise following the UK interest rate rise

Has your savings interest rate increased following the Bank of England's interest rate rise to 5% earlier in the week ? Many of the top paying savings accounts have increased, which includes those that carry a base rate tracking guarantee.

Savings accounts to increase interest rates -

  • ICICI Bank UK - has raised the rate on its online Hi Save account rises from 5.15% to 5.45%.
  • Chelsea BS Double Guarantee Account rises from 5.25% to 5.50%
  • Derbyshire BS Easy Save Tracker rises from 4.95% to 5.10%
  • Cahoot, has raised its online savings account to 5% from 4.8%.
  • IceSave rate will rise to 5.45% from 5.2% as of 15th November 2006.

  • Bradford & Bingley ESavings Account rises from 5.10% to 5.25%
  • Kent Reliance Direct Tracker Rollover Bond rises from 5.25% to 5.50%
  • Egg Internet Savings Account rises from 4.75% to 5%
  • Cheshire BS 50 Plus Freedom rises from 4.85% to 5.10%
  • Capital One Base Beater rises from 4.80% to 5.01%

Cash ISA's

  • National Savings and Investments' Direct Isa rate has been raised to 5.55% from 5.30%, (this tracks the base rate +0.55% until April 2008) and thus is one of the best Cash ISA's available
  • M&S Money has raised its Cash ISA from 4.75% to 5%
  • Newcastle BS 55 ISA rises from 4.75% 5.00%
  • IF Mini Cash ISA rises from 4.85% to 5.00%
  • Natwest Mini Cash ISA rises from 4.75% 5.00%

Thanks for the list !

Makes a refreshing change to see the savings rise straight after the interest rates, usually the banks just mortgage rates
