Global Warming - The Impact of Rising Sea Levels

Politics / Climate Change Oct 13, 2007 - 09:41 PM GMT

By: Ian_Brockwell

Politics With sea levels reaching a critical point, governments around the world have decided to implement a plan that is designed to save as many people as possible.

A number of special places have been selected (zones), and these will be occupied by people who possess certain skills. Unfortunately, only about 6 million people will be lucky enough to be selected for the prime zones, and the remainder placed in lower level areas. This will leave at least 5 billion people who will have to fend for themselves in the “old world”.

Accepting that those living outside the safety areas will have to “fight” for their survival, the authorities have agreed to waive existing penalties for laws that are broken. Sadly, this will mean that only the strongest will have any chance of surviving the worsening conditions and we can expect just as many to die from this situation, as will be lost due to the climatic changes.

The selection process is expected to cause a public outrage, as only a very small percentage can hope to be included on the list, which will take approximately 2-3 years to complete.

As those left on the “outside” are almost certain to try and force their way onto the special zones, as sea levels rise even more, security will be a very important factor in the design of the zones. However, once the sea reaches a higher level, these areas will effectively become like “islands” and be much easier to protect. At this stage, the number of survivors (outside the zones) will also be fewer in number, and less able to mount a serious attack.

With most of the best places taken for the zones, there will be very few locations left for “outsiders” to find that will provide land suitable for crops, and have sufficient supplies of fresh water. And even if they do, will they be able to protect it from others seeking the same?

Just in case you are wondering, this hasn’t happened yet and is simply a news item “prediction” based on information provided in the book “Global Warming – The Final Solution” (around March 2018).

In the book, sea levels had increased by 6 feet from today’s level, and some countries were already in serious trouble. You may think (or hope) that this could never happen, or are one of those people who still believe there is no problem at all. But what if you are wrong? Are all the reports of melting ice a conspiracy theory? What if the sea does rise by 20 feet or more (which it will if all the ice in Greenland melts)? It has happened before on this planet and on a few occasions reaching more than 300 feet, when all the ice vanishes!

It is probably impossible to stop this event, and even if we could, are there any governments out there willing to make the effort? We could help ourselves, but most of us will pretend the problem doesn’t exist and bury our heads in the sand (until the sea washes it all away). We will wait and hope that something or someone will save us from this fate (as we always do). Maybe someone will, but I doubt if it will be the “someone” we expect!
