Stock Market Volatility Increases
Stock-Markets / Stock Markets 2014 Jan 23, 2014 - 05:08 PM GMTTNX may be taking another dip lower this morning. It is uncertain whether it will make a new low or simply a partial retracement.
SPX fell to its mid-cycle support in overnight action. This appears to be due to the announcement of the Chinese Manufacturing slowdown.
This morning’s Weekly Jobless Claims did not help matters. Furthermore, it now seems official that 1.4 million extended jobless claims are getting the axe.
SPX futures have now broken through support and are now challenging Tuesday’s lows. The Pre-Market has not caught up with the futures as of this memo, but soon will.
Gold futures have surged up to 1257.90, but have not overcome the prior high at 1262.00. The Cycles Model suggests that the retracement may be short and the decline is due to resume shortly.

Tony
