Accepting a Society of Government Tyranny

Politics / US Politics Jul 18, 2017 - 11:01 AM GMT

Politics

Rational thinking and moral conduct are rare in a society that has no respect for other individuals or succumb to the dictates of an all powerful government. Without free will, the dignity of the person is removed from the social relationship. Tyranny is not simply a state of mind, but is an imposition of compulsion designed to control the behavior of subjects of whatever form of government claiming legitimate rule.

Mary Ann McGrail contends that Shakespeare viewed "tyranny is a perpetual political and human problem".

"She locates Shakespeare’s expansive definition of tyranny between the definitions accepted by classical and modern political philosophy. Is tyranny always the worst of all possible political regimes, as Aristotle argues in his Politics? Or is disguised tyranny, as Machiavelli proposes, potentially the best regime possible?

Shakespeare’s dramas of tyranny rest somewhere between Aristotle’s reticence and Machiavelli’s forthrightness."

The real world proves that tyranny in the Disunited States of Amerika is a combination of both aspects. The legal arguments and court challenges of John Whitehead from The Rutherford Institute, define the nature and essence of the Police State that hovers over all citizens. Paul Craig Roberts insights on how finance imposes a despotism of global propositions embodies the loss of economic freedom. And Pat Buchanan explains the historic decline of liberty as the New World Order consolidates their authoritarianism and seeks to eliminate nation states.

All three are excellent advocates of classical understanding as represented in Aristotle tradition. Compare this enlightened perspective with the overwhelming establishment of Statists, who dominate the Machiavelli culture of raw power that compels conduct under the threat of governmental punishment.

So how has the tyranny that Aristotle defines and warns against, became ubiquitous and embedded into the political system? For a specious justification to accept "this thing called government" review what James Fieser writes on THE SOCIAL CONTRACT in his book, Moral Philosophy through the Ages.

"Social contract theory is both a legitimate and a historically important account of political and moral obligation. Briefly, social contract theory describes a disease and then proposes a cure. The disease is that humans have unsociable tendencies and are unable to construct and live in cooperative societies. The cure is that we contractually agree to be civil to one another under threat of punishment from a governing body that we establish for this purpose. This mutual contract then becomes the backbone for our moral obligations to each other."

Missing from this argument is that free will is not an implied consent. In order to acknowledge legitimacy; a government, ANY Government must gain the willful acceptance of its citizens. For purists like all consistent civil libertarians, government ignores the inherent autonomy of every person or, and which is the all consuming likelihood, would plainly default to Machiavelli’s forthrightness.

When Fieser argues that "humans have unsociable tendencies and are unable to construct and live in cooperative societies", he is not stating that human nature is basically evil. Well, history certainly proves that wickedness is a universal element in all societies. However, when has governance by power hungry sociopaths ever provided salvation for a society? Government force and coercion is not redemption. Only fear and legalized suffering allows regimes to rule over the masses.

The populace abdicates their intrinsic natural rights to an artificial crew of career criminals. The outlaw gangs, both elected and administrative appointed bureaucrats, that inflict their torture upon the public, hate individual initiative and strive to subjugate the peons under the boot of arrogant domination.

When Shakespeare's play Julius Caesar, states: "The evil that men do lives after them; The good is oft interred with their bones”, the ageless dilemma is summarized. The illusion that "good stewards" rise to leadership positions in government is absurd. The reality is that the most accomplished practitioner in the black arts of political brutality become the top dogs.

They enforce their Reign of Terror, which becomes the norm. As long as people acquiesce, because they decline to hold elites accountable and refuse to challenge the corrupt system, the plight of mankind will never improve.

J. Robert Smith condenses the original mindset during the creation of the country in Why Accept Tyranny and Ruin?

"As the Founders keenly appreciated, there is always the possibility of a "tyranny of the majority."  The nation was never conceived as a democracy, as the left for decades have persuaded many citizens to believe.  America is a republic, a nation of laws with men subordinate.  Government was created to safeguard man's natural rights.  Democracy is an indispensible feature of the republic, but it wasn't intended to be unfettered; it was intended to be blunted or thwarted when democracy produced majorities (or pluralities) that act contrary to basic rights."

As valid as this assessment is, the distressing ignorance from a drowning population translates into not just a majority, but a supra multitude of non committed drones, who lost the comprehension  of why the American Revolution was fought. This population of self-centered leeches demand more government benefits no matter how many natural rights practices must be sacrificed or surrendered.

Tyranny is the inevitable consequence of this capitulation. The Bob Livingston Letter purports the following in More Evidence That The U.S. Government Is A Criminal Enterprise.

"The U.S. government is a criminal enterprise and is out of control. The U.S. Constitution was drafted to limit government and affirm the natural rights held by the people, but it is serially ignored and violated by the President, the Congress, the Supreme Court and law enforcers both Federal and local.

The result is growing tyranny and a police state and a Nation that is becoming a simmering cauldron of unrest — sparked by the passage of unConstitutional laws by a Congress controlled by moneyed interests; the affirming of those laws by the Supreme Court; long-term high rates of unemployment; a declining standard of living; increased regulation by unaccountable, bought-and-paid-for psychotic government functionaries; money printing; a presstitute mass media; increasingly militarized and militant local law enforcement officers; and a declining morality encouraged by both the political and celebrity classes — that is poised to explode."

Now how can any objective scholar deny this judgment? The facts are solid, but the denial society is based upon cognitive dissonance. Back in 1970, Walt Kelly the cartoonist who created Pogo coined the infamous phrase “WE HAVE MET THE ENEMY AND HE IS US”, to promote environmental awareness. In the decades since, fake science and alarmist lies from the radical cultists, who would go to any lengths to impose their totalitarian demands on the easily deceived are primary advocates of government tyranny.

Rationalizing that a "so called" Social Contract justifies that any despotic measures are warranted because THEY are saving the planet, is totally psychotic. How many people go along with this "PC" dogma, just because they do not want to be labeled a climate denier?

Extrapolate this socialization conformity to almost every other issue that relies upon supporting the orthodox policies of an all authoritative government. A timid individual produces a compliant  society. The net result is that the progression of the mass culture continues to eradicate the intellectual underpinning of classic Aristotelian principles.

Liberty has become a taboo rationale in this dictatorial, opportunist and expedient environment. How many indoctrinated government school students or Ivy League University graduates have actually read the plays or sonnets of the Bard of Avon or Aristotle’s Ethics and Politics treatises or his scientific syllogism in Posterior Analytics? Notwithstanding, you can wager your bottom dollar that everyone is familiar with the political message embodied in The Prince.

The New York Times offers this viewpoint of his popular legacy.

" Yet Machiavelli teaches that in a world where so many are not good, you must learn to be able to not be good. The virtues taught in our secular and religious schools are incompatible with the virtues one must practice to safeguard those same institutions. The power of the lion and the cleverness of the fox: These are the qualities a leader must harness to preserve the republic."

And here lies the rub. The prime objective is preserving the republic, which translates into protecting and maintaining the STATE, and all the power exercised by government. The entire chronicle of Western Civilization is based upon the primacy of the individual. Governments do not reflect the virtues of moral or ethical conduct. The artificial structures that claim legal authority over human beings are all based upon the naked dominance that is found in Machiavelli's counsel.

With the abdication of personal responsibility and the loss of courage to limit the excess found in any temporal government, denizens have accepted tyranny as an inevitable curse. John Whitehead, Paul Craig Roberts and Pat Buchanan all share alarm with the tyrannical rule that stems from a non critical acquiescence of the Machiavellian society. If you truly want to promote Liberty, recognize that the foremost foe is your government. According to Mahatma Gandhi, “Silence becomes cowardice when occasion demands speaking out the whole truth and acting accordingly.”
