Most Common Mistakes Made in Escape Rooms

Escape room adventures offer refreshing group entertainment. Like any collective activities, they have their own list of typical errors linked to failed collaboration. Consult our list of five escape room sins before embarking on your next adventure. Newbies and fans alike will benefit from bearing these caveats in mind.

More and more escape rooms are opening all around the world. The Japanese invention is now entertaining people in Asia, USA, Australia, and Europe. Britons have also recognized its benefits. You may find an escape room in London UK at https://komnata.co.uk/london/, with many narratives and themes to pick from. Here are the main things you should try to avoid in any kind of escape room adventure.

1. Failure to share information
Any winning strategy in escape room adventures is built on efficient cooperation and information exchange. Whenever you spot any symbol or item, you need to notify the others. Otherwise, you risk missing an important piece of the puzzle, and run out of time as the result. It is also detrimental when a teammate decides to open a lock or decipher a code without assistance. The more brains are involved in a task, the higher the odds of success.

2. Conflicts
To put it simply, this is not the time or place for the feud. Arguments distract you from the goal, consuming precious minutes and causing failure. Keep calm and do not let disagreements hamper your progress. It is natural to get emotional when you work towards a tight deadline. But however annoyed you may feel, wait until the adventure is over. You may find that your irritation was not worth expressing at all.

3. Wrong number of members
Escape room dates are special adventures focused on romantic chemistry. In all other cases, six is the optimal number of players, according to experts. It allows just the right amount of brainpower, while the roles may be split easily. Collective effort leads to synergy, but do not bring a crowd along. Your team may include a commander, a thinker, a seeker and a tidy upper, so each member will use their main strength for the sake of your common goal.

4. Neglecting instructions
Before the game commences, your game master will brief you on the nature of the mission and the rules involved. Like airline safety instructions, this information is often overlooked. Remember that the success of your mission depends on your awareness of what is allowed and what is forbidden. This will save time, which is crucial.

5. Attempts to solve riddles with incomplete information
Sometimes, players get stuck on a puzzle simply because they have not collected enough clues. The best strategy is to move backward - start by defining what you need to break the codes you see and search around for these clues. Do not waste time on something you cannot solve quickly. Remember that the game develops logically, so your team should first deal with those puzzles that you have clues for.
