Who Has Shaped the World the Most? The Dozen Greatest Achievers / Politics / Education
As tough Teddy Roosevelt famously said more than hundred years ago:
“It is not the critic who counts; …. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, …. who does actually strive to do the deeds …. who .... best knows, in the end, the triumph of high achievement ....”
Who have been the top movers and shakers prevailing in the global arena?
It is a lasting result that counts the most in achieving things in broad social terms. Never great style only, ala JFK. Seldom genius alone, at least in things social.

It's GCSE results day today, so 16 year olds across England and Wales will have been busy popping down to their secondary schools to find out if they managed to get their requisite GCSE grades for the courses they intend enrolling on for September start.
Overall minimum pass grades awarded of C/4 are marginally down on last year by 0.6% to 72%. Whilst a C is a pass, given the competition to get accepted on courses then the ultimate objectives are to achieve the A* and 9 grades for selected subjects. So if a student is choosing to enrol on 3 A-levels in September than objective would be to achieve 3 A*'s in those 3 chosen subjects as a sign of having the capability in achieving a similar grade at A level.

Revolutionize School Education Globally with ‘Dynamic School Knowledge Banks’ / Politics / Education
Out of millions of students enrolled in thousands of schools every year globally, a few thousand students alone are lucky to have the best schools and best teachers and the others are spoiled without the required Skills, Expertise, Knowledge and Motivation though spend a lot of money, efforts and time . No school is rich enough to engage the Master Teachers and Great Scholars for each and every lesson taught in the classrooms. Half of the children do not have any access to schools and teachers worldwide. If we follow the conventional mode of education, it may take at least one hundred years to establish schools for all children in the world.Read full article... Read full article...

Ron Paul Warns Education is Too Important Not to Leave to the Marketplace / Politics / Education
This week, events around the country will highlight the importance of parental control of education as part of National School Choice Week. This year's events should attract more attention than prior years because of the growing rebellion against centralized education sparked by the federal Common Core curriculum.
The movement against Common Core has the potential to change American education. However, anti-Common Core activists must not be misled by politicians promoting "reforms" of the federal education bureaucracy, or legislation ending Common Core while leaving all other federal education programs intact. The only way to protect American children from future Common Core-like programs is to permanently padlock the Department of Education.

The Monopoly of the Government Education Cartel / Politics / Education
Learning is a noble pursuit, but the ancient Greek text is one of the few places where the Socratic Method survives. Sanctioned political doctrine of required thinking is the mainstay in today’s august temples of purification. Forget about a classroom, the curriculum core of New Age studies has no room for the classics, much less instructions into the process of thinking itself. Except, of course for the need to electronically check off the loan applications and assign grants to the business office. In the end, university is big business and developing intelligent graduates happens as an afterthought, if at all.

College Degree Earnings Propaganda / Politics / Education
Andrew Syrios writes: It is becoming substantially less difficult these days to convince people that college is not a sure fire way to the good life. Even Paul Krugman has conceded that “it’s no longer true that having a college degree guarantees that you’ll get a good job.” You can say that again:53 percent of recent graduatesare either jobless or underemployed. Unfortunately, myths die hard. Many people still believe as Hillary Clinton once said, “Graduates from four-year colleges earn nearly an estimated one million dollars more [than high school graduates].” This may sound convincing, but this figure — based on a Census Bureau report — is about as true as it is relevant.

Government Schools Common Core Indoctrination / Politics / Education
Over the last half century, the public school establishment in America has achieved enormous results, if the intention was to dumb down the population. The term public is archaic, since the current age promotes an internationalist interdependency culture, where the state defines institutional roles and sanctions accepted standards. The public plays virtually no effective role in this process. For this reason the proper term to use is government indoctrination centers. Bringing back the McGuffey Readers as the alternative to the state syllabus of common core is a step in the right direction. Our Dysfunctional Public Education Is No Accident essay lays out the correct standard.
