Who is Spreading the Virus? UK Coronavirus 2nd Wave Analysis / Politics / Pandemic

By: N_Walayat

Britains incompetent government has once more lost control of the Chinese Coronavirus pandemic that is now at the very beginnings of a second wave that looks set to be about half as severe as that of March and Aprils first wave

You only have to venture out to the local super market or shopping mall to see why the virus is starting to accelerate again, for what you tend to see are the rebellious young i.e. 18 to 29 of whom probably less than half were the mask, whilst those aged say 30 to 49 whilst more lively to wear masks, many have them below their noses or worse below their chins. Thus defeating the whole purpose of wearing masks in attempts at slowing the spread of the virus.

UK Coronavirus 2nd Wave SuperMarkets Panic Buying 2.0 Toilet Paper , Hand Sanitisers, Wipes... / Politics / Pandemic

By: Nadeem_Walayat

Britains incompetent government has once more lost control of the Chinese Coronavirus pandemic that is now at the very beginnings of a second wave that looks set to be about half as severe as that of March and Aprils first wave and as was the case before the Panic buying has once more already begun starting at major super markets such as Tesco and Morrisons who Friday announced restrictions on items purchased on many goods including hand sanitisers, toilet rolls, flour, pasts, baby wipes, antibacterial's and eggs which is likely to spread to many other supermarket goods as the number of local lockdown's multiple in the face of the exponential spread of the virus that has now passed above r 1.5. Though hopefully to nowhere near the extent of March panic that this video illustrates of just how bad things could get once more all courtesy of an incompetent government advised by moronic mad scientists who are more interested in feathering their nests then giving useful advice hence you cannot blame people for panic buying when faced with morons in charge!

Boris Johnson Hits Coronavirus Panic Button Again, UK Accelertoing Covid-19 Second Wave / Politics / Pandemic

By: Nadeem_Walayat

Britains incompetent government has once more lost control of the Chinese Coronavirus pandemic that is now at the very beginnings of a second wave that looks set to be about half as severe as that of March and Aprils first wave in advance of which British Police have been steadily given new powers to accumulate arrest points towards criminalizing people who for instance don't wear masks or are found in groups of 6 or more whilst those who breach self isolation rules could be hit with fines of upto £10,000. Police forces increasingly putting high risk areas and groups of people under surveillance, which translates into ethnic and deprived areas receiving special attention, officers roaming the streets, shops and super markets looking for law breakers with even plans to deploy the army in support of the police towards enforcement of local lockdown's.

President Trump and Crimes Against Humanity / Politics / Pandemic

By: Dan_Steinbock

According to a new book, President Trump knowingly downplayed coronavirus risks.  As other critics have argued, his administration’s decisions represent crimes against humanity.

Recently, Bob Woodward, associate editor at the Washington Post and one of the legendary Watergate journalists, published Rage, a new book on President Trump’s first term, which draws on 18 interviews that Woodward conducted with Trump between December 2019 and last July.

Here’s its key message: President Trump knowingly downplayed coronavirus risks.

CDC Shock Admission - THERE IS NO PANDEMIC! Over 90% of Deaths nOT From COVID19 / Politics / Pandemic

By: Jeff_Berwick

There seems to be a black hole swallowing flu, pneumonia, cancer, diabetes, old age and stroke fatalities in 2020.

Every year, millions of people around the world die of these causes, none related to the Serial Killer From China plandemic. Yet, this year, all these illnesses have been used as “comorbidity” excuses to label people as ‘Covid’ victims.

And finally, the CDC has admitted it. Right there, on its website, for anyone to read.

Freedom and Sweden’s Constitution / Politics / Pandemic

By: Steve_H_Hanke

In most countries, the tool of choice to “flatten the curve” of the coronavirus pandemic is the lockdown. Not in Sweden, which has chosen a rather laissez‐faire approach. The borders have been kept open, and Swedes are free to travel within the country, visit bars and restaurants (with some restrictions), parks, hairdressers, gyms and most other places.

The cornerstone of the Swedish response is its constitution’s most important part, the Regeringsform. Chapter 2, Article 8 states: “Everyone shall be protected in their relations with the public institutions against deprivations of personal liberty. All Swedish citizens shall also in other respects be guaranteed freedom of movement within the Realm and freedom to depart the Realm.” The Regeringsform makes exceptions only for prisoners and military conscripts, and there is no provision for a peacetime state of emergency. While the constitutions of neighboring Finland and Norway also guarantee freedom of movement, neither juxtaposes that provision with a broad protection of “personal liberty.”

Coronavirus The Worst Is Still Ahead - New COVID-19 Report  / Politics / Pandemic

By: Dan_Steinbock

The interview with Dr Steinbock, the author of the new report, suggests that the COVID-19 challenges are far from over. The pandemic is still spreading and could become more virulent. Several major economies face “lost years.”

Dr Dan Steinbock projected the internationalization of COVID-19 and China's rebound in the 2nd quarter already in early February. By mid-March, he predicted the great coronavirus contraction and 2nd quarter carnage in the US, Western Europe and major advanced economies.

UK Government to Cancel Christmas - Crazy Covid Eid 2020! / Politics / Pandemic

By: Anika_Walayat

Apparenrtly for many British muslims Eid was cancelled due to the governments incompetent handling of the chinese virus that has seen over 65,000 deaths instead of less than 500 as there should have been if the UK had followed the South Korea model.

So ee are living in crazy times when a government minister can shut down whole areas of the nation by tweet, as was the case ahead of the Eid festivities across the Manchester area of the UK totaling some 4 million people which is a population about the size of Scotland!

So what does one do during crazy times for Eid? Have a crazy Eid slime party!

Will America Accept the World's Worst Pandemic Response Government? / Politics / Pandemic

By: Patrick_Watson

Even in normal times, the news describes murders, accidents, wars, natural disasters, and the passing of once-famous celebrities.

Those deaths are usually just headlines. We don’t know the people, and we don’t expect to share their fate anytime soon. We note them and move on.

Ignoring the death news isn’t so easy in a pandemic that could sicken and possibly kill any of us, at any time. Yet people manage to do it. Some think it’s all exaggerated or fake. But even those who see the threat often tune out the news. They’d rather not think about it—and understandably so.

The virus doesn’t care what people think. It will, if given opportunity, try to infect them. A small percentage of those infected will die. Will others care?

Will Coronavirus Vaccines Become a Bridge to Nowhere? / Politics / Pandemic

By: Michael_Pento

The monthly U.S. budget deficit for June 2020 was a heart-stopping record $864 billion. For reference, last year's deficit for all of fiscal 2019 was just under $1 trillion. In other words, the June deficit was almost as much as the entire amount of red ink spilled one year ago. This year will see the worst annual amount of fiscal hemorrhaging ever—and by a whole lot. The figure will be at least $4 trillion in total, which is $2.6 trillion more than the peak suffered under the Great Recession. One has to imagine that with the Department of Labor reporting, there are now 32 million people collecting unemployment insurance as of June 27th--the amount of additional debt continues to pile up fast.

Tesco Scraps Covid Safe One Way Arrow Supermarket Shopping System / Politics / Pandemic

By: N_Walayat

Another sign that the UK is fast relaxing it's covid-19 infection spread mitigation measures is supermarkets such as Tesco scrapping their one way shop arrow systems. Whilst it remains to be seen if the country is sleep walking towards another second more deadly pandemic peak in a few months time. Nevertheless Tesco and other supermarkets cannot be blamed for taking such actions because most shoppers had already abandoned following the rules many weeks ago, especially following revelations that government ministers and advisors themselves had failed to follow social distancing rules such as Dominick Cummings all without any consequences.

Prepare for the global impact of US COVID-19 resurgence / Politics / Pandemic

By: Dan_Steinbock

Recently, the US has suffered a series of COVID-19 surges. The escalation won’t stay in America. It is likely to cause collateral damage worldwide.

In early June, U.S. states began to exit from the lockdown measures, even though the epidemic curve had not been adequately flattened. On July 4th, the White House sought for a “return to normal” with a celebration at Mount Rushmore, where President Trump, who has recently associated himself with far-right “white power” extremists, gave a bizarre speech warning about a “new far-left fascism.”

Coronavirus Pandemic UK and US Second Waves, and the Influenza Doomsday Scenario / Politics / Pandemic

By: Nadeem_Walayat

Three weeks ago I warned to expect an end to the trends of reducing number of deaths from covid 19 in the wake of black lives matters protests, lack of social instancing and winding down of lockdown's across the US and UK, where the only figure that actually counts in terms of the impact of the virus is in the number of deaths.

Whilst my analysis of Mid March warned to expect several pandemic waves where each subsequent wave 'should' be smaller than the one before due to increased institutional, governmental and individual intelligence on combating the virus..

US and UK Black Lives Matter Protests, Riots and Looting To Trigger 2nd Covid-19 Wave Peak? / Politics / Pandemic

By: Nadeem_Walayat

Briefly, the protesting and rioting of the past week that has shown little signs of social distancing coupled with relaxation of lockdown's is likely to trigger a second wave of sorts that a few weeks down the road could result in a rising death tolls for both the US and UK.

As things stand the Covid-19 deaths trend in the US continues to move the right direction with the 7 day average at 835 and the 14 day at distant 970, though the rate of decline has slowed over the past couple of weeks that implies that the US could be at risk of at least stalling at an average of about 800 deaths per day and worse risk an upwards trend towards a second peak over the coming weeks.

When Profits and Politics Drive Science: The Hazards of Rushing a Coronavirus Vaccine at “Warp Speed” / Politics / Pandemic

By: Ellen_Brown

More than 100 companies are competing to be first in the race to get a COVID-19 vaccine to market. It’s a race against time, not because the death rate is climbing but because it is falling – to the point where there could soon be too few subjects to prove the effectiveness of the drug.

So says Pascal Soriot, chief executive of AstraZeneca, a British-Swedish pharmaceutical company that is a frontrunner in the race. Soriot said on May 24th,

“The vaccine has to work and that’s one question, and the other question is, even if it works, we have to be able to demonstrate it. We have to run as fast as possible before the disease disappears so we can demonstrate that the vaccine is effective.”
