The stock market indices had very nice big gains until the last few minutes when they sold off, especially on the Nasdaq 100, which gave up about 25 points off its big gains today, still finishing up at 4935, with a good trade and double top around 4960 by midsession, before the late pullback.

Net on the day, the Dow was up 114.78 at 19,911.21, a new all-time at 19,953. The S&P 500 was up 14.76 at 2271.72. The Nasdaq 100 was up 61.54 at 4935.82.

Advance-declines were 17 to 12 positive on the New York Stock Exchange, and 16 to 12 1/2 positive on the Nasdaq. Up/down volume was nearly 2 to 1 positive on New York, total volume of 3.6 billion shares traded. The Nasdaq traded over 2 billion shares and had a 2 to 1 positive volume ratio.

TheTechTrader.com board showed multiple big gainers today. Priceline.com (PCLN) was up 3.33 to 1540.11, Alphabet Inc. (GOOG) up 6.83 to 796.10, Apple Inc. (AAPL) up 1.89 to 115.19, Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN) 14.22 to 774.34, Netflix, Inc. (NFLX) 95 cents 123.78.

Baidu, Inc. (BIDU) gained 2.98 to 171.46, Facebook, Inc. (FB) popped 2.54 to 120.31, but First Solar, Inc. (FSLR) dropped 8 cents to 33.62.

Tesla Motors, Inc. (TSLA) jumped 5.72 to 198.15.

Biotech’s did well today. Aerie Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (AERI) was up 1.20 to 38.50, Achaogen, Inc. (AKAO) up 1.83 to 14.86, NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA) up 1.58 to 91.17, and Terex Corporation (TEX), one of our swing trades, 2.80 to 33.05. On the downside, Yirendai Ltd. (YRD) lost 1.20 to 26.94, bluebird bio, Inc. (BLUE) dropped 1.45 to 68.55.

Checking TheTechTrader.com percent-gain leaderboard, Cemtrex Inc. (CETX) bounced 71 cents, or 16%, to 5.05, on 1.6 million shares traded. Organovo Holdings, Inc. (ONVO) closed up 40 cents, or 11.8%, to 3.79, on 5.5 million shares traded.

Stepping back and reviewing the hourly chart patterns, they indices had a very sharp move from the get-go, a double-top intraday, a pullback at the end of the day on profit taking, but, still, a very strong session.
