Reintroducing The Concept Of Stock Market Investing Risk / Companies / Risk Analysis

By: WMA

It has been a while. Aside from a bit of turbulence at the end of 2015 and the beginning of 2016, those investors turning a blind eye to financial market risk enjoyed a winning strategy since 2011. Equity market volatility had been particularly subdued from the U.S. election in November 2016 until this month. We knew that this extreme complacency had to end…it just lasted longer than any rational analyst could have predicted.

It almost seems perverse to write a Commentary on the importance of managing risk in this great economic expansion with strong company profits – aided by the Republican tax cuts. Investors who just buy companies whose share prices are setting all-time record highs pass as financial geniuses. However the earnings outlook, in our opinion, has gotten a bit too rosy. Wall Street optimism has markets priced for perfection, and with many market-leading stocks trading at levels inconsistent with past earnings cycles. And more experienced investors should know that bull markets do not die on pessimism. Our challenge is to convince our readers and investors that investing in a portfolio of blue-chip stocks today is not a sufficient risk management strategy.

Why You Should NOT Sub4Sub Free Youtube Subscribers - YTpals, Subpals, SubmeNow Test Results / Companies / Google

By: N_Walayat

On the 20th of January Youtube decided to cut all small channels loose from their partner programme, all those channels with less than 1000 subscribers and 4k watch time who by the 20th of February were ejected from the Youtube partner programme that amongst several benefits included monetization of videos which in most cases for Youtubers resulted in a token return of typically about $5-$10 per month. So the blow for being ejected from the youtube partner programme was not financial but rather Youtube effectively telling its smaller youtubers to get lost

Youtube Partner Programme New Rules 2019 - 4000 Subscribers, 10000 Hours Watch Time... / Companies / Google

By: N_Walayat

On the 20th of February Youtube demonetized all channels with less than 1000 subscribers and 4,000 hours annual watch time, ejecting them from the Youtube partner programme that amongst several benefits included monetization of videos which in most cases for Youtubers resulted in a token return of typically about $5-10 per month. So the blow for being ejected from the youtube partner programme was not financial. This leaves small youtubers with a continuing up hill battle to reach the new bar set at 1000 subs and 4k watch time hours before they will be reconsidered for joining the Youtube partner programme.

Semi Conductor Stocks SEMI Bearish? / Companies / Tech Stocks

By: Gary_Tanashian

Over the last several years, beginning in 2013 I’ve made post titles like ‘Semi Bullish‘ in response to the bullish leading edge economic cycle indicator, the Semiconductor Equipment sector and its implications for broad stocks and the economy. Those implications of economic acceleration were along these lines… Semi Equipment Book-to-Bill (b2b) → Broad Semi → Manufacturing → Employment → Firm Economy. Shortly after the b2b was noted as bullish the SOX index and the S&P 500 broke out to new highs, not to even hint at looking back until the rocky 2015-2016 period.

The 2013 period launched everything we know as bullish today.

Youtube KILLS ALL Small Channels with New DeMonetization Rules / Companies / Google

By: N_Walayat

YouTube has effectively told all small youtubers to get lost, as from the 20th of February it will be demonetizing MOST Youtube channels, as most channels are small, either sub 1000 subscribers or sub 4000 view hours per year. Now I am sure all small youtubers out there would agree that it was never about the money, for most are unlikely to be receiving more than $20 per month in revenue, which won't even pay for a weeks coffee. So it was never about the money but about being recognised as being a Youtube partner, instead now Youtube is telling small youtubers that Youtube does not want you !

Remember When Stocks Only Went Up? / Companies / Company Chart Analysis

By: John_Rubino

Long ago in a distant galaxy called “2017,” stock prices rose every day. And the people were happy. With paper profits in hand they maxed out their credit cards and bank lines to buy flat-screen TVs and cars and cover their student loans.

Then one day a darkness began to spread. Stocks began to move in an unfamiliar way that felt profoundly wrong. They went “down” instead of up, and paper profits began to shrink. The people consulted their price charts and were confused to find them written in an unfamiliar language full of oddly sloped lines and negative numbers.

What is Compliance in the UK Gambling Industry and Why is it Important / Companies / Gambling

By: Steve_Marks

It can seem, at times, like the gambling industry in the United Kingdom, as well as other parts of the world, is a little bit of wild west. There are always stories of people who seem to have lost their life savings, or have become addicted without any help and there are plenty of horror stories about betting shops and the effects they have on people.
