Vacuum Cleaner Features You Need To Know

A vacuum cleaner is a basic household appliance that is a must-have in most homes. It is a simple appliance yet comes in handy when cleaning dust, debris, as well as other small particles. It uses suction to clean dirt off the carpet and couches.

Over the past few years, vacuum cleaners have undergone some technological advancements. These advancements have changed the overall functioning of vacuum cleaners making them more efficient.

The best vacuums in 2020 are not only limited to annihilating dust from shaggy carpets.

In this article, we look at the various innovative features that you should consider the next time you are looking to upgrade your vacuum cleaner.

Let’s delve into specifics.

  • Cyclonic technology

Cyclonic technology used in the manufacture of vacuum cleaners has revolutionized the cleaning process.

Conventional vacuum cleaners sucked dirt into a bag and leave it inside. The sucked air would then come out through the back of the bag. The main challenge here is, the air that left the bag could till contain some dust reducing cleaning efficiency.

However, with the new bagless models that use cyclonic technology, dirt is directly deposited onto a holding tray. Since the air moves in a cyclone and not in a straight line, the air, and dust separate, leaving the dirt at the bottom of the tray.

Some vacuum cleaners will contain multiple smaller cyclones, making the cleaning process more efficient.

  • HEPA filtration

Manufacturers have embraced HEPA filtration technology in the manufacture of vacuums.

HEPA stands for high-efficiency particulate air. This is a filtration technology that is designed to trap almost 100% of dirt, dust, and debris.

With vacuum cleaners that use HEPA filtration, there is a slim chance that dust will be released back into the air during cleaning. This feature reduces the possibility of household members suffering from allergies and conditions such as asthma attacks.

Although, the filtration capabilities of a vacuum cleaner are not something that you can easily tell by a single look. Seek expert help when looking for an efficient vacuum cleaner with high filtration capabilities.

  • Robotics

Digitalization has infiltrated every industry and cleaning was not spared either.

Currently, smaller computerized vacuums have emerged that make use of complicated algorithms to move around household obstacles like tables and chairs. What’s even more amazing is that these vacuum cleaners can scoot under chairs and move past pets and kids.

Some of the models I have come across use timers and recharge themselves. How amazing is that?

As much as they are diligent, they need a little help cleaning around corners. Other than that, they are ideal for daily household cleaning treatments.

  • Bagless technology

Bagless vacuum cleaners have been around for a while now. However, the newer versions are more powerful and can perform heavy-duty cleaning processes.

In these vacuums, the bags were replaced with onboard filters that need to be replaced from time to time. The replacement duration in bagless vacuums will depend with the manufacturer.

Additionally, bagless vacuum cleaners allow you to see the dirt you have collected.
