5 Ways to Spruce Up Your Garden

Sprucing up your garden and the surrounding area is a great idea if you want to enjoy the outdoor space that you have. It’s also something that’s best approached during the late summer and early autumn months before the leaves start to fall and make a complete mess of it. Striking early is best when sprucing up your garden. Here are five ways to do so.

Enhance Your Comfort

To want to spend more time outdoors in the garden, it’s necessary to make it more appealing. One of the best ways to do this is to increase the comfort level and ease. A set of garden loungers will let you laze in style and there are even ones with canopies that can protect you from the sun too.

If you want to entertain guests, a garden dining table from VidaXL is a greater idea. Take advantage of great weather days by entertaining outdoors. Some tables in their range are the fold-out type that provide style and the convenience of removal after the guests have departed.

Plan for Some Landscaping

Looking out over the garden may be fine, but if it’s plain and visually uninteresting, it could be time for a change.

Consider adding some landscaping features to provide visual separation between different areas of the rear of the property. A rock feature, a pond filled with fish, and other elements can provide new areas of interest when sitting out.

Make Your Lawn Feel Good

The lawn gets plenty of use during the spring and summer with adults treading over it and sometimes overly enthusiastic kids playing on it too. As a result, the turf can begin to look weathered, and it may become sun-damaged too.

Giving it a good mowing and clearing the edges with a trimmer will let you see what you’re working with. Remove accumulated debris, and weeds that have surfaced since the last review. From there, you can inspect it to see which patches of grass are suffering the most.

Adding some fertilizer will do the trick when it comes to reinvigorating the lawn once again. And fix up any turf and soil that’s become dislodged to make it easier to mow the next time.

Add a Sprinkler

A water sprinkler can do wonders to keep the lawn moist and invigorated. They can also be moved to provide sufficient water for the garden plants too.

Sprinklers have become more sophisticated over the last few years. Many can now run on timers, know when it’s not rained much in the last few days, and provide water more intelligently. Just be aware of any local sprinkler or water usage bans as they happen occasionally.

Touch Up the Exterior Paintwork

When the exterior walls are looking a bit shabby, it might be time to give them a lick of paint. Summer and autumn are a good time for painting as the weather is still reasonably good weather so you should have time to let the paint dry before the next rainfall. If painting is needed, don’t leave it too late or you’ll have to wait until next spring.

Sprucing up your garden can provide a real incentive to spend more time outdoors before the shorter, darker days are upon us again.
