By: Robert_Ross

Do you have a cellphone?

“5G,” as you’ve probably heard, is short for fifth-generation wireless network. This new technology will let phones and computers communicate 1,000 times faster than 4G—enabling everything from remote surgery to self-driving cars.

Schumpeter's Creative Destruction and Nokia's 41 Megapixel Camera Innovation / Companies / Telecoms

By: David_Knox_Barker

Innovation is continually disrupting and transforming companies, industries and entire global economies built on the demands, risks and rewards of international free market capitalism. Innovation and creative destruction is an integral part of economic and financial market cycles, large and small, and therefore in the rise and fall of company fortunes and their shareholders.

Telecom Stocks Dividend Yields / Companies / Telecoms

By: Richard_Shaw

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleThose investors who are skeptical about dividends from the major telecoms AT&T (T) and Verizon (VZ), point to the declining wireline revenues as a factor putting the sales growth and dividend stream at risk. Clearly, telecoms don't have the utility-like stability of decades past, but we think fears are overstated.

Telecoms today are not just about phones, wired or wireless, but also about data delivery in competition with cable companies for internet and TV services. We think that provides an important revenue replacement source for the declining wireline business.

Communications Stocks Look Strong Despite Market Turbulence / Companies / Telecoms

By: Roger_Conrad

It's tough to keep in mind during times of turbulence, but market moods and trends come and go. The only constant is businesses. And the performance of those in your portfolio is what's ultimately going to determine whether your wealth expands or contracts.

This week, the markets returned to a relative state of calm. The key was the aggressive action by the Federal Reserve and the world's other central banks to pump liquidity into the global system and prevent the ongoing credit crunch from becoming an economic calamity.
