Trouble Knocking On Stock Bull’s Door, An AAPL A Day? / Companies / Tech Stocks

By: Michael_Noonan

Trouble appears to be brewing for a weakening bull trend in stocks. Starting with the higher times frames, which are more controlling over daily and intra day, those charts followed by most traders, we see a rising wedge that is indicating a trend running out of demand effort. [A similar "wedge" situation was covered in our post on "10 Year Note and Wheat - How To Find Trades, 2 December 2012, see Commentaries].

Tech Stocks Forecast 2013 - Ride the Mobile Wave, Bet on Cloud Computing / Companies / Tech Stocks

By: Money_Morning

Michael A. Robinson writes: The best way to score tech stock gains in 2013 is simple: tap into the areas where there is "constant buzz."

But before we get to the three areas that are the most buzz-worthy, let's start by clearing up one big myth. There really is no such thing as one tech industry.

By: Money_Morning

Michael A. Robinson writes: If you've been following my advice, you avoided the carnage at the fumbling tech giant, Hewlett-Packard (NYSE:HPQ)

In fact, I told my Radical Technology Profits readers on Sept. 18 not to buy into the hype that H-P was becoming a great turnaround story.

Apple APPL Stock Options Implied Volatility Can Lead to Profits / Companies / Tech Stocks

By: J_W_Jones

The recent massive sell off in AAPL stock has presented some interesting opportunities for low risk trades. For long time readers of this column, you may recognize that my portfolio usually contains an AAPL position.
Why? I cannot overemphasize the importance of trading liquid instruments, and in the current world, very few underlying issues have options with the degree of liquidity routinely available in a wide spectrum of strike prices and expiration dates.

Facebook's Mobile Revenues Strategy in Trouble / Companies / Tech Stocks

By: Janet_Tavakoli

In its last earnings report Facebook touted its mobile revenues strategy--a strategy that it said depends on "sponsored stories"--as the answer to its loss on a GAAP basis (the accounting benchmark for U.S. corporations), declining margins, and sharp decline in revenues from Zynga's games, once 12% of its revenues.

Cisco Represents Rare Investor Opportunity of an Undervalued Dividend Growth / Companies / Tech Stocks

By: Charles_Carnevale

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleWe don’t believe that anyone will argue against, or should argue against, the idea that the Internet will continue to grow for many years to come.  Cisco Systems (CSCO) is the world’s largest supplier of high performance Internet networking systems and solutions.  According to research from Standard & Poor’s Corp., Cisco’s product families are comprised of four segments.  Switches represent 32% of fiscal product sales, routers represent 18%, new products (the biggest segment) representing 48%, and the final category is other representing 2% of fiscal sales.

Just How Big Is Apple’s Growth Challenge / Companies / Tech Stocks

By: Richard_Shaw

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleApple (AAPL) faces a monumental continuing growth challenge. It is so large that in order to continue growing at its recent pace, it has to create revenue and market-cap each year equal to the entire revenue or market-cap of major companies.

Why Apple Should be Trading at $1000, Tech Stocks Market Mispricing / Companies / Tech Stocks

By: Charles_Carnevale

Diamond Rated - Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleAt the risk of jumping on the everybody’s-writing-articles-on-Apple-bandwagon, this article is offered at the request of a loyal reader.  Our objective is to put not only Apple’s valuation into perspective, but also what we believe to be the current undervaluation of technology stocks in general.

Apple Stock Regression Analysis Price Forecast 2013 / Companies / Tech Stocks

By: Richard_Shaw

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleApple is in a bearish condition at the moment, with swirling questions about its management changes, product roll-outs, and competition, as well as the 2012 Christmas shopping season. There is also the possibility that some of the current selling pressure may be due to an extra level of year-end selling due to upper income investors deciding to realize profits before the increased gains taxation expected in 2013.

Apple AAPL Stock Looks Ready to Bounce, the Next Best Trade Ideas / Companies / Tech Stocks

By: Chris_Vermeulen

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleAAPL shares have been in free fall mode all October spooking investors with a $120 drop from the all-time high in September. As well all know, though it’s hard to follow without a proven trading strategy to keep us focused but the key is that you must buy when others are selling and then sell when everyone is buying.

Apple shares really have helped in holding the overall stock market up in the past but recently it has been a big drag on the broad market. Taking a look at the chart below you can see my analysis and thoughts of this giant.

Apple Stock Earnings Must Deliver in December / Companies / Tech Stocks

By: Money_Morning

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleDavid Zeiler writes: Even though Apple Inc.'s (Nasdaq: AAPL) earnings for Q4 aren't yet out - they'll be announced after Thursday's market close - the company is much more concerned with beating last year's spectacular December quarter, the company's fiscal first quarter.

Apple's Q1 earnings last year blew past all expectations. Apple earned $13.87 per share - more than doubling the profit from the year-earlier quarter -- by selling a record 37 million iPhones and 11 million iPads.

Will Facebook Stock Price Crash to $5? / Companies / Tech Stocks

By: Janet_Tavakoli

Diamond Rated - Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleWill Facebook soon be a $5 stock?

Facebook has seen a tsunami of selling by insiders since May 17 when its IPO raised $16 billion for insiders, early investors and the firm. Its share price nosedived from $38 to $19.52, around half its IPO price, as of close of business on October 15. There will be even stronger downward price pressures on the stock before year-end.

Investors who bought when Facebook was still private sold enough shares at the IPO to make many multiples of their original investments: Goldman Sachs, Greylock Partner, and Microsoft combined sold 38.5 million shares for more than $1.4 billion. Peter Thiel invested $500,000 in Facebook; since the IPO he's sold all but 5.6 million of his original 44 million in stages to cash out around $1 billion.

Why You Should Stay Away from Hewlett-Packard / Companies / Tech Stocks

By: InvestmentContrarian

Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE/HPQ) sank on Thursday after warning the market to expect less in 2013, as the former technology kingpin struggles to revamp its business.

The company has seen over half of its market-cap dissipate over the past year, rewarding the short-selling traders, according to my stock analysis.

Riots Over Rotten Apple Mania / Companies / Tech Stocks

By: BATR

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleYou may know someone who is part of the rampage. It could be a neighbor or even a family member. Even in some circumstance, you yourself might be part of the wow rage. No, we are not talking about dunking for apples or eating from the forbidden fruit. This riot is all about living a virtual life in the ether zone of personal numbness, disguised in the appearance of being cool. Life without an iPhone to these cutting end "Efficiency Experts" is not worth living. This is the new economy and progress dictates that connecting to the world of texting is the most important function of daily existence.

Apple Stock Fundamental Earnings, Price and Dividend Analysis / Companies / Tech Stocks

By: Fast_Graphs

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleApple Inc (AAPL) is one of the most high profile stocks in the world.  Regarding its valuation, people are often confused by its high price.  However, even though the price is high, Apple’s valuation is significantly lower than its historical earnings growth rate, and more importantly, its forecast growth.  Consequently, we believe that this high profile growth stock that has recently began paying a dividend, is undervalued at these levels.

It's all possible today, thanks to a new type of tech called Near Field Communications (NFC).
