Saudi Arabia Get Out Of Syria

Politics

THE LIGHTWEIGHT TALKS HEAVY
Saudi royal family member Prince Turki al-Faisal in a December 15 interview with Reuters said “Iran is coming at us with a broad smile. Let's hope they are serious about that. We would like to see Iran first of all get out of Syria".

Saudi Arabia can also get out of Syria, powerfully de-escalating the civil war.

Speaking at the Monaco venue for this year's World Policy Conference, which had 2 of its 5 sessions dedicated to war and peace in the Middle East, Turki al-Faisal again sulked and raged in public about being sidelined and ignored by the US, UK, Russia and Germany - but not France – when it came to Saudi attempts at aborting or thwarting the November Iran nuclear negotiations, which ended with an agreement to wind back oil and economic sanctions against the Islamic Republic. This sets the certain risk for KSA to see its oil revenues decline as the barrel price falls, when Iran's oil exports ramp upward.

With lower oil revenues to pay for the “jihadi” killing party in Syria, the motley crew of Islamic insurgents, terrorists and gangsters making war in somebody else's country - KSA's proxy footsoldiers scraped from the streets and gutters of the Arab world and Europe taking the risks that KSA shirks – Saudi Arabia and its local allies, the Gulf region Sunni-minority regimes will have headwinds for keeping the civil war going in Syria. The stated aim of these feudal, racist and anti-democratic regimes which enforce Shariah law at home, is to set up their theocratic-fascist societies with princely ruling elites in anybody else's country – in this case Syria.

High on petrodollars and princely vanity, lacking the courage to directly fight themselves, they cannot understand how little they count in world affairs – except to play a spoiling role. Their exclusion from the Geneva negotiations with Iran in November was a timely slap in the face for them.

PUTIN EXPLAINS
In a joint interview with France's Francois Hollande shortly after he replaced Nicolas Sarkozy as French president in 2012, Putin of Russia exposed the crawling hypocrisy of France in a very few words. Hollande pompously demanded that Putin should rein-in his puppet Bash al-Assad, but Putin told him that while France willingly accepts Saudi money for weapons sales to the “jihadis” fighting the Syrian government of al-Assad, France is fighting Saudi-paid and Saudi-armed Islamic fundamentalist terrorists in Mali intent on overthrowing the Bamako junta government backed by France. Giving French lessons of public morality to Putin on that score was not possible. The pompous Hollande soon switched to blethering about other subjects!

The same hypocrisy lurks in the verbiage dealt out by Saudi elite powerbroker Turki al-Faisal. Iran has to quit Syria by reining-in or abandoning Lebanese Hezbollah fighters aiding al-Assad, but Saudi Arabia has princely rights for its hired killers go on killing Alawites, Kurds, Christians, Druze and any other ethnic group or community judged “inferior” by the workshy princes, who 3 generations ago were goat- and camel-herders in the desert. The pat-excuse for their stunning arrogance is they are “serving Allah” by installing a Grand Caliphate which, if Allah wants, can spread across the Middle East and North Africa – like a cancer.

Running alongside their hypocrisy and arrogance, princely word-twisting can be expected from Saudi royals. This was shown by the December 15 claim from Turki al-Faisal that the US and UK, and other major European “non-lethal equipment supplier” countries will not support the Islamic Front - a shifting coalition of about six major Islamist rebel groups in Syria – which has overthrown and chased the leader of the Syrian Military Council, which commanded the Free Syrian Army (FSA) out of the country. The Islamic Front also seized the weapons stocks of the FSA, enabling journalists to inspect large numbers of weapons supplied by the US, UK, France, Italy and other countries – whose aid to the Islamists, although denied, has included military-use equipment in return for princely petrodollars, while claiming this aid to the Islamists was “strictly humanitarian”, while the FSA received “real weapons and military support”.

Prince Turki bin Faisal railed at the belated decision to stop handing out weapons to Islamic Front “jihadis” committed to destroying Western civilization and enslaving women.

Bin Faisal claimed, December 15,  that Saudi Araba had backed and supported the FSA from the start – when in fact the FSA has been continuously attacked, both militarily and politically, by the ragtag bands of well-armed Islamic “jihadis” financed and armed by Saudi Arabia. Bin Faisal had the extreme hypocrisy to say, in interview December 15, that the US and UK, in particular, had abandoned the moderate FSA “to fend for itself”. The Syrian Military Council, as is well known, includes democratic and western-oriented factions demanding free elections, non-discrimination on religious grounds at the workplace, and the equal status of women, among its other demands. Saudi Arabia, an Islamic feudal theocracy, is totally opposed to all of these goals. Its Islamic insurgents laying waste to Syria have always attacked FSA fighters wherever the FSA was in a weak position.

SAUDI IMPUNITY
Prince Turki al-Faisal particularly rails about "Assad's impunity”, apparently believing that KSA will never be brought to book for funding and arming mercenary killers operating inside Syria, which have committed numerous documented atrocities against unarmed civilians. Bin Faisal seems to think that because Saudi Arabia produces almost as much oil as Putin's Russia, nobody would dare to arraign, put on trial, and punish the princely clique who sow mass murder in Syria. Wrapped in an arrogant shield of petrodollars, the princes and playboy warmongers believe they are above all law.

The Saudi “all theater” strategy, fed by petrodollars and princely arrogance extends across Muslim Africa and deep into other African countries, supplying arms and finance for “jihadis” attacking both Arab and Black African governments, parties and leaderships. The Saudis imagine their oil wealth makes them invulnerable to being held accountable for their war crimes.

In Mali and most recently Central African Republic, the Saudi Islamic jihad strategy pits the feudal theocracy of KSA directly against the anxious-to-please and hypocritical French intent on “recycling” Saudi petrodollars by all the means they can imagine – such as the sale to Saudis and other Gulf princes of weapons, Parisian luxury hotels, football teams and comfort ladies. All and any Islamic fundamentalist groups, and especially their bands of armed killers are financed and supported by Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, UAE and Oman.

Breaking news focuses the rising tide of civil conflict in South Sudan, where southern non-Muslim forces, July 9, 2011 threw the Saudi-backed northern Muslim elite from power, in the former united Sudan. South Sudan's President Salva Kiir says this week that an attempted coup by soldiers loyal to his sacked former deputy Riek Machar has been put down after heavy gunfire overnight in the southern capital, Juba. Mr Kiir said his government has full control of the capital, but announced a dusk to dawn curfew for civilians. Presented by some analysts as essentially sparked by Nuer-Dinka ethnic or tribal rivalries in breakaway South Sudan, Saudi Arabian financing and support to all forces opposing the South Sudan government – which controls more than 65% of former Muslim Sudan's oil reserves and production capacity – has been strong since South Sudan broke away from Riyadh-influenced Khartoum. In bordering Central African Republic, French attempts to obtain favours – that is petrodollars – from the Saudis are faced on the ground by Muslim militias, financed by Saudi Arabia, who are intent on serving Riyadh by operating a bloody jihad against christians and animists, inside a country where Muslims at most count for 15% of the population! As in South Sudan, the Saudi-backed terrorists will be chased out of the country but not before wreaking mayhem.

Sooner or later, the common thread of the Saudi hand in destabilizing and fanning revolt and bloodshed inside already-unstable and war-prone African countries will be recognized for what it is: criminal incitation to race and religious hatred. Saudi action in these countries, in Syria, Egypt, Tunisia, Bahrain and Yemen is always directed at destroying or reversing the transition to democracy and an attempt by KSA to install a feudal theocracy similar to what it has at home - which western powers tolerate and support only because of oil and petrodollars. When Saudi meddling is recognized for what it is, the supposed impunity of Saudi princes interfering in the affairs of other countries will be over.
