Land Rover Discovery Sport, The Good Bad and Ugly 3 Month Owners Review / ConsumerWatch / Motoring
This is my comprehensive review of what's the good, bad and ugly of a Land Rover Discover Sport after owning and driving HSE Black trim for over 3 months, of what to expect if you are considering buying one as it does take a few months of real world driving before one is fully aware of the cars good, bad and ugly points, such as the pretty feeble plastic trim that tends to surround Discovery Sports, the rattling sound that many owners tend to experience again apparently from poor quality trim.

Z-Edge S3 Dual Car Dash Cam Review - Full Specifications / / Motoring
The Z-Edge S3 Dual Dash Cam sold by amazon for £140 could possibly be one of the best Dash Cam's currently on the market. Land Rover Discovery Sport Extreme Driving "Beast from the East" Snow Weather Test / ConsumerWatch / Motoring
The 'Beast from the East' weather from Siberia has been hitting the UK all week since Tuesday 27th Feb, with heavy snowfall fall of between 5 cm and 15cm disrupting travel, snow flurries falling every few hours soon covering gritted roads in the coldest weather experienced for the UK since at least the past 5 years. Many motorists decided to do the sensible thing and leave their vehicles parked rather than risk driving.
However, in the interests of wanting to test the Land Rover Discovery Sport's All wheel drive and for a better look at the impact of the 'Beast from the East's heavy snowfall, I decided to hunt down some of the most badly effected roads in the city of Sheffield, none more so then those going out of the city to literally within a stones throw of Derbyshire as the this video illustrates.

Best Car Dash Cam Review: Z-Edge S3 Dual Dash Cam - UNBOXING (1) / Personal_Finance / Motoring
Dash Cam, a camera that goes onto your car's dashboard is now deemed to be a necessity rather than optional as one of the first things your insurer will ask following an accident is do you have dash cam footage. However, car owners hunting for a dash cam can be bewildered by the choice that ranges across the price spectrum from as little as £10 to several hundreds of pounds.
So in the search for the perfect dash cam we spent some time hunting for the optimum spec, starting with a front only camera soon progressing to a dual front and back camera configuration as expectations are that any trouble will come from the back rather than the front. The next requirement was that the dash cam should be able to record many hours of footage so that we don't need to empty the camera too often, unfortunately most dash cams are very limited in the max micro sd cards they can take, usually to just 32gb, which at 1080p equates to about 3 hours of footage. Another potential problem is that most cameras make use of suction mounts which effectively tend to triple the size of the camera on ones windscreen, so our requirement was for a compact low profile dash cam.

Land Rover Discovery Sport, What to Know Before Buying - 2 Month Owner Drivers Review / ConsumerWatch / Motoring
This is my comprehensive review after owning and driving a Land Rover Discovery Sport for 2 months, of what to expect if your considering buying one as it does take a few weeks of real world driving before one is fully aware of the cars good and bad points, such as the pretty feeble plastic trim that tends to surround Discovery Sports, the rattling sound that many owners tend to experience again apparently from poor quality trim.
So whilst the Discovery Sport looks great on the driveway and generally also drives well, in many other respects my 11 year old Zafira was better i.e. the back two seats are seriously lacking in leg room, definitely not enough space for adults! And what's worse is that real world fuel economy performance will come nowhere near Land Rovers sales pitch of the DISCO doing 53.3 MPG. Then we have the fantasy of the first oil service change at 21,000 miles, when in reality the car will be requesting an oil change much sooner! So watch my 2 month drivers and owners review for what you need to beware of before you buy one. Where this HSE Black was bought from Hunters in Chester.

Letting a Land Rover Discovery Sport Fuel Tank Run to 0% Empty / Personal_Finance / Motoring
Given the poor fuel economy of Land Rover Discovery Sport's i.e. owners will be lucky to achieve 30MPG let alone anywhere near Land Rover's sales pitch of 53.3MPG. Add to that the small 50 litre usable fuel tank then Discovery Sport drivers will often see themselves running low on fuel, but what happens when you let your fuel gauge run to zero, 0% Empty, and just how reliable is the fuel gauge for I am sure Disco Sport drivers are soon aware that the fuel gauge tends to vary in its reading. We'll we put a Disco Sport to the test in this video to find out just how reliable the fuel gauge is and what happens at EMPTY.

Land Rover Discovery Sport ECO Mode Real MPG Fuel Economy Test / ConsumerWatch / Motoring
In this video I answer the question of just how closely Land Rover Discovery Sports fuel economy compares against Land Rovers 53.3 MPG sales pitch, as knowing what a car will actually do under real driving conditions is a very important consideration when buying any new car. This test is of real world driving done wholly in ECO Mode so as to maximise fuel economy of what to expect from a 15 month old Land Rover Discovery Sport that has done about 13,000 miles from new.

Adblue and Engine Oil Change Indicator Reliability - Land Rover Discovery Sport / ConsumerWatch / Motoring
Every owner of newer diesel cars such as the Land Rover Discovery Sport should be aware that they have a separate Adblue tank that needs topping up every x thousand miles, and that the car needs an oil change every x thousand miles, 21,000 in the Discovery Sports case, where to aid drivers there are countdowns for both of these displayed on the dashboard. However, just how reliable are these indicators when compared against the manufactures sales pitch. For instance adblue is supposed to be consumed at the rate of 1 litre per 1000 miles driven. Whilst the oil service indicator should be counting down to 21,000 for the LR Discovery Sport.

How to Check Engine Oil Level, Dip Stick, Land Rover Discovery Sport / Personal_Finance / Motoring
It is very important for Land Rover Discovery Sport owners to regularly check their engine oil levels because the Land Rover sales pitch of only requiring an oil change every 21,000 miles does NOT match the reality of real world driving as likely most will been requiring an oil change a good 10,000 miles before 21,000 miles have been driven. So do check you oil every 1000 miles or so to ensure it does not need topping up or changing. So find out in our latest video of how to easily check your oil level, which if low should be topped up to prevent a much earlier oil change than that which Land Rover suggests.

How to Check Land Rover Discovery Sport Adblue and Oil Change Service Interval Levels / Personal_Finance / Motoring
It is very, very important for Land Rover Discovery Sport owners to regularly check their Adblue and Oil Change Service interval levels because they don't tend to change in line with what Land Rover states i.e. that an oil service is due every 21,000 miles etc. So checking ensures you are not suddenly caught off guard by a dash warning. Adblue is a mixture that is added to diesel fuel so as to lower emissions and meet EURO6 regulations. You car will have a 13 litre Adblue tank which technically should be consumed at the rate of 1litre per 1000 miles driven.

Land Rover Discovery Sport - What You Need to Know Before Buying - Owning Week 2 / ConsumerWatch / Motoring
Here's my week 2 update of owning a Land Rover Discovery Sport of what to expect if your considering buying one. For it takes at least a couple of weeks before one is fully aware of what one needs to know BEFORE one buys one as the various flaws only become apparent after real world use, such as the pretty feeble plastic trim that tends to surround Discovery Sports, the knocking sound that many experience again from poor quality trim for though the Discovery Sport looks great and general drives well, in many respects my 11 year old Zafira was better! And what's worse of all is Land Rovers sales pitch of 53mpg fuel economy that in no way matches the reality of real world driving experience as my latest video in this buying and owning a Land Rover series illustrates.
