All Businesses Should Be Lucky Enough To Be Big Banks! / Companies / Market Manipulation

By: Sy_Harding

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleThe half-dozen or so banks that became too big to fail have had it good. They received $billions in taxpayer bailout money and loan guarantees, were hand-fed lucrative deals to take over the choicest parts of less fortunate competitors, were allowed to exchange some of the toxic waste assets on their books with the Fed for Treasury bonds, and have been able to hire the best of the many newly unemployed bankers and traders.

Surmounting Deception, Distortion & Intervention Thus Protecting Profits & Wealth / Companies / Market Manipulation

By: DeepCaster_LLC

Diamond Rated - Best Financial Markets Analysis Article“The Bank (Goldman Sachs – Ed.) has raised the possibility that there is a danger that somebody who knew how to use this program could use it to manipulate markets in unfair ways.” Joseph Facciponti, Assistant U.S. Attorney, July 4, 2009

The significance of the Assistant U.S. Attorney’s statement at the Bail Hearing for the former Goldman employee, Sergey Aleynikov, who was charged with stealing Goldman Sachs trading software, goes far beyond the issue of the alleged theft.

Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, the Financial Sector’s Profit Powerhouse of the Future / Companies / Banking Stocks

By: Money_Morning

Diamond Rated - Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleShah Gilani writes: If Goldman Sachs Group Inc.’s (NYSE: GS) blowout second-quarter earnings demonstrated one thing, it’s that the new “equity-merchant-banking model” - the replacement for the Wall Street investment bank of pre-financial-crisis days gone by - is where financial-sector investors will make their money for years to come.

By: MoneyWeek

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleDavid Stevenson writes: Until very recently – perhaps just this week – you probably hadn't heard of CIT.

The company is one of the biggest lenders to American businesses. But despite all the flak that's been flying around financial firms over the last two years, it's hardly a name that trips off the tongue.

Trolling for High Quality Equity Dividend Income / Companies / Dividends

By: Richard_Shaw

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleEquity income has the potential to grow.  Bond income does not.  Investors with an income orientation should have at least some level of equity income to supplement fixed income from bonds to keep up with the cost of living.  Inflation is the inevitable long-term outcome of monetary and fiscal policy (current deflation notwithstanding).

Weak Fundamentals Mean U.S. Retaliers Will Continue to Struggle / Companies / Sector Analysis

By: Money_and_Markets

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleNilus Mattive  writes: In last week’s column, I gave you some ideas on the kind of companies I currently favor … namely those firms that have strong brands, economically-insensitive products, and strong finances that allow healthy dividend payments.

I also said (again) that it was a good time to take money out of more cyclical stocks, particularly those that have run up recently.

New Upleg for Goldman Sachs / Companies / Company Chart Analysis

By: Mike_Paulenoff

Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS) once again is pushing 150, and it looks like today's thrust started a new upleg in the aftermath of a month-long pullback from 151.17 to 135.23. If GS has started a new upleg, then tomorrow's earnings could well be a catalyst for upside continuation that commenced today with Meridith Whitney's upgrade ahead of the opening bell. A hurdle of the prior high of 151.17 will trigger a next optimal target of 155-157.

This Company is About to Clean Up in China / Companies / China Stocks

By: Uncommon_Wisdom

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleYou’ve heard a lot about the Cap and Trade bill working its way through Congress. I have no doubt that some variation of this Tax and Kill legislation will ultimately pass.

And somebody is going to make a bundle by helping companies deal with the new legislation. There may be several winners. One that I particularly like is a small pollution-control company operating in China.
