The End of Apple! / Companies / Apple

By: Stephen_McBride

“Oh man, that’s almost a month’s rent for me…”

Here I am sitting in a cab in New York City.

I’m headed uptown to Columbia University where we’re holding the first-ever American Disruption Summit.

You can register to watch for free here… more on that in a minute.

The driver and I are talking about the absurd price tag of the latest Apple (AAPL) iPhone.

He’s shocked when I tell him the cheapest model is $1,149.

Four Breakout Stocks to Watch / Companies / Investing 2019

By: Harry_Boxer

Here are four stocks from a range of industries breaking out primarily on news, continuing strong technical trends off December lows.

Attunity Ltd. (ATTU) surged $1.48 to $23.39 on 709,200 shares Wednesday on more than double its average volume. The move came ahead of the data management software company's announcement today that it will release its quarterly and annual financial results on January 31. The move positioned the stock right up against a triple top going back to November. The stock's On-Balance Volume indicator is making new highs ahead of price, a positive sign. A break through here could lead to $28 next.

History Shows That “Disruptor Stocks” Will Make You the Most Money in a Bear Market / Companies / Tech Stocks

By: Stephen_McBride

“Sell everything, I can’t take anymore!”

My stockbroker friend got a phone call from a hysterical client on Christmas Eve.

She was panicking over all the money she had lost in the market—and demanded to sell her whole stock portfolio.

As you know, December was horrendous for US markets. The S&P fell 10%. It was its worst December since 1931 during the Great Depression. In fact, it was the S&P’s worst month overall since February 2009.

How To Profit From The Death Of Las Vegas / Companies / Gambling

By: OilPrice_Com

Earlier this year, a little-known U.S. Supreme Court decision ripped open the door to a potential multi-billion dollar market. Only, it’s not what you think.

I’m not talking about legal cannabis.

I’m talking about America’s other favorite vice: gambling.

According to Forbes, illegal betting on NFL and college football will hit $93 billion in 2018. Global Market Advisors estimate illicit sports betting is a $150 billion industry.

How Waymo Will Destroy Uber / Companies / Self Driving Cars

By: Stephen_McBride

Google’s Waymo has officially launched the world’s first self-driving, ride-sharing service! Residents in four Phoenix suburbs can now ride around in its robo-taxis for a small fee.

It’s one of the biggest disruptive forces in America.

In RiskHedge, I recently explained why self-driving cars are going to gut the auto industry like a fish. And Phoenix is only the first step in Waymo’s domination of American roads.

There Goes Tesla’s Tax Break / Companies / US Auto's

By: Rodney_Johnson

As I’ve written before, Tesla (Nasdaq: TSLA) has many problems, including quality control (it now ranks 27th out of 29 vehicle makes, according to Consumer Reports) and a quick burn rate.

But one issue hit harder on New Year’s Day than all the others.

Because the car company reached the milestone of selling 200,000 electric vehicles in the second quarter of 2018, the tax credit associated with buying a Tesla was cut in half on January 1, from $7,500 to $3,750, and will decline again before disappearing completely in early 2020.

Stock Buy-Backs Go Bust / Companies / Corporate News

By: Michael_Pento

The perfect storm of zero percent interest rates that existed concurrently with a debt-disabled economy lured executives at major corporations into a decade-long stock buyback program. The Fed pumped money into the economy thru its various Quantitative Easing programs to force interest rates near zero percent, with the expectation corporations would borrow money at the lowest rates in history and then invest in their businesses in the form of Property Plant and Equipment (capital goods). This in turn would expand productivity and help foster a low-inflation and strong growth environment.

This Stock Will Drive America’s 5G Buildout / Companies / Mobile Technology

By: Stephen_McBride

Who sells the basics? That’s the first question I answer when evaluating an investment trend.

In markets, those who sell the basics get rich.

James Marshall was the first guy to pull a gold nugget out of the mud during the 1848 gold rush. James literally struck gold. And yet, he left California broke.

Marijuana spent this year finding its feet. It may spend next year surfing a big wave of profits.

Marijuana 1.0 was all about the legalization drive, the dumping of billions of dollars of cash into the industry and mouthwatering, legitimizing mergers and consolidations—but it was a jockeying exercise in capacity expansion.

Marijuana 2.0 could be just as big a deal—it’s about the technological tweaks that will actually make this industry profitable.

Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS) – Bullish Trend is Still Intact / Companies / Company Chart Analysis

By: ElliottWaveForecast

Ayoub Ben Rejeb : Since the 2008 Financial Crisis, Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS) established a new multi-year bullish trend which managed to break above 2007 peak after just 10 years joining the list of many other stocks which already achieved new all time highs in the previous years.

GS has been moving within a bullish channel making higher highs and higher lows. Every correction took place in a form of 3 swings lower into a blue box which is a High-frequency area where the market is likely to end cycles and make a turn. Now, the stock is approaching the lower end of the channel from where ideally the stock will be able the resume the move to the upside as long as the trend remain intact.
