After the bizarre 2016 election, Washington faces a slate of investigations and a gridlock. Internationally, threats include new Cold War(s). Depending on the outcome, the election could even be contested.
If Hillary Clinton wins, she will flash her broad smile like Alice in the Wonderland, with Vice President Tim Kaine, Bill and Chelsea on her side. The conventional story will be that her victory built on her egalitarian economic policy, gender concerns, international relations, strong defense policy and good ties with Europe and Japan.

In the old Soviet Union, people had “free” elections and were “free” to choose any Communist candidate that had been selected for the election. Most of the people of the Soviet Union understood well that their elections were shams.
Here in the United States, we also have “free” elections and the corporate media narrative is that you need to vote for one of the two candidates that have been selected for you, because if you go outside of that “choice”, the other terrible candidate that you do not want will win the election. You may not particularly like the candidate you plan to vote for, but that candidate is certainly the “lesser evil”. The corporate media has successfully spun that illusion so now many people do not even realize that there are choices outside of the Democrat/Republican duopoly that is strangling our election process.

It's the 2nd of November and not just America but the whole world is counting down to the US election day. Gone is the fantasy reporting of a week ago when the mainstream press, pollsters, political pundits, analysts, book makers and markets were literally all concluding that Hillary Clinton was heading for not just an election win but a landslide victory. And then the FBI detonated their Hillary emails bomb which has galvanised into action what had been a Trump campaign literally on life support, which saw many cowardly republicans throwing in the towel, abandoning the Trump ship, leaving the Trump Terminator to keep relentlessly plowing on and on, on his own, regardless of what the establishment media threw at him every other day, that which would have killed off any ordinary candidate's campaign months ago!

Don’t do it. Voting in the presidential election could kill you. We know this because economists say so.
I know that sounds weird. Let me explain.
Economics is all about how we allocate scarce resources… such as your vote. Like most other decisions, we make it using cost-benefit analysis: What does x cost and what benefit will it give me? If benefit outweighs cost, then x is a rational choice.

A day on from the breaking of the Hillary Emails bombshell and the dust is settling in the betting markets to reveal a market jump in Trumps favour by 29%, that saw betfair's Trump price recover from an clearly unwinnable 6 to now stand at 4.3. Is it enough to win the election? We'll 4.3 is still substantially away from where Trump stood just before the 1st Presidential debate at 2.88, in advance of which I had concluded that given the trend trajectory at that time that Trump despite being behinf in the polls and the betting markets WOULD win the election given the anti-establishment Brexit factor.

There is so much in innuendo and guesses and biased opinion floating around on this ‘morning after’ the Comey bombshell that the only option we have is to read and watch a ton of stuff and see what sticks. One thing that definitely should stick was published late last night by Paul Sperry for the New York Post.
He scores a solid and massive point that looks as damning for the FBI itself (or at least the superiors), as it does for Hillary Clinton. It is, in that regard, perhaps telling that one of the alleged reasons whispered for FBI director Jim Comey to come forward on Friday is that he feared details of the probe would otherwise be leaked to the press.

The campaign rhetoric has been one not of issues but of personalities. Hillary Clinton calls Trump unfit to be president, so Trump retaliates by accusing her of being unfit. Most of their television ads are attack ads. In personal appearances, their speeches focus upon what’s wrong with the other candidate not what their own presidency will be about. The last time a presidential race was this vicious may have been in 1800 when Thomas Jefferson was challenging President John Adams.
