Will Mitt Romney Fulfill the Mormon White Horse Prophecy? / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2012
As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS), GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney could become the first Mormon president of the United States. Questions about how a candidate's religious faith may impact his presidency are always a topic of discussion during campaign season but when the candidate belongs to something other than an established mainstream American Church, people are more curious.

The 47%, Could Romney Be Right? / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2012
Mitt Romney has conceded that his thoughts, expressed at that Boca Raton, Fla., fundraiser, were "not elegantly" stated. Those mocking him might concede he has tabled one of the mega-issues of our time.
Can America continue down the path President Obama is taking us on, to a time soon and certain when a majority of wage-earners pay no income taxes but a majority of citizens receive federal benefits?

America Wake Up and Reject the Two-Party Plutocracy / ElectionOracle / US Politics
Here we go again. Millions of Americans will soon vote for either the Republican or Democratic presidential candidate not because they deeply believe that he is absolutely the best possible president the country needs and can have. No, they will know that they are compromising and choosing the lesser of two evils, mainly because most people know that both major parties and their candidates stink. The lesser evil is still a loser.Read full article... Read full article...

QE3 Delivers Fresh Ammo for Both Romney and Obama / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2012
David Zeiler writes: U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke never intended his latest stimulus program, QE3, to become an issue in the 2012 presidential election, but he had to know what would happen.
"We have tried very, very hard, and I think we've been successful...to be nonpartisan and apolitical," Bernanke said at a news conference Thursday after the official Fed announcement of QE3. "We make our decisions based entirely on the state of the economy....So we just don't take those [political] factors into account. And we think that's the best way to maintain our independence and maintain the trust of the public."

Will the 2012 U.S. Presidential Election Be Stolen? / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2012
David Swanson writes: Why would I even ask that question? I’ve been trying (with virtually no success) to get everyone to drop the election obsession and focus on activism designed around policy changes, not personality changes. I want those policy changes to include stripping presidents of imperial powers. I don’t see as much difference between the two available choices as most people; I see each as a different shade of disaster. I don’t get distressed by the thought of people “spoiling” an election by voting for a legitimately good candidate like Jill Stein. Besides, won’t Romney lose by a landslide if he doesn’t tape his mouth shut during the coming weeks? And yet . . .

The Day Mitt Romney Lost the U.S. Presidential Election 2012, Youtube Fund Raising Video / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2012
Up until Monday, depending on which poll you referred to, the incumbent Barack Obama and challenger Mitt Romney were virtually neck and neck in the lead up to the Presidential debates. However Mitt Romney has now blown his chances of winning by having let his mask slip in a youtube video that reveals his true face to the electorate, gone was the wooden Romney of slow painfully delivered lines, instead replaced by rapid fire commentary of what he actually thinks of near half the american voting public (47%).

Obama’s Dumb Criticism of Romney on China Currency / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2012
Mitt Romney, as I've noted, has been heating up the issue of Obama's failure to stop China's currency manipulation.
This currency manipulation is a big distorter of our trade with China, and therefore a big driver of America's trade deficit, which makes it a big driver of job loss and deindustrialization.

Liberty’s Voice Silenced / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2012
There is not enough difference between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney to make any difference of great consequence. Both candidates preach the welfare-warfare-counterfeit state forever. Both serve our failed elite without limit. Both fail to admit the financial Armageddon the world is facing.

Why Dividend Investors Should Worry About an Obama Election Victory / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2012
Martin Hutchinson writes: I don't have to tell you there is a lot at stake for dividend investors in November.
In fact, an Obama victory could hit income investors with something of a double whammy.
You see, for dividend investors it isn't simply just a matter of higher tax rates, the changes President Obama has in mind may result in fewer dividends paid altogether.

Republican Party Convention Platform, Lies, Damn Lies, Statistics / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2012
Laurence M. Vance writes: At a breakfast sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor held just before the Republican National Convention began, House Speaker John Boehner, when asked about the new Republican Party Platform, said: "If it were up to me I would have the platform on one sheet of paper. Have you ever met anybody who read the party platform? I’ve not met ever anybody."
This must have been disheartening to the Republican activists from around the country who worked for months just to earn the right to attend the convention in order to have a chance of contributing to the party platform. Each state delegation assigns two of its members to a special committee that works on the platform and then presents it to the full convention for approval.

Republican and Democrat Conventions: It's My Party and I'll Lie If I Want To / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2012
By David Zeiler writes: Now that both the Republican and Democratic national conventions are over, one key question remains: Which side has the best liars?
If America's two major political parties have anything in common, it's the ability to fold, twist and mutilate the facts of any given subject.
Almost every speaker at both national conventions did their utmost to uphold this ignoble tradition of American politics.

Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, and the Politics of Public Relations / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2012

Do Democrats Favor Banning Corporate Profits? / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2012
Noted author and economist Peter Schiff went to the Democratic National Convention to find out.
In an extensive range of interviews with delegates and attendees at the Democratic National Convention, radio show host and free-market economist Peter Schiff found a number of people who actually support the idea. Posing as an anti-business crusader, Peter spoke to a wide range of DNC attendees who support adding a plank to the Democratic platform that would explicitly outlaw or cap profitability.

What’s Romney is Really Up To? Softball Nationalism / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2012
In my 2010 book Free Trade Doesn’t Work, I speculated that the following might occur:
Both political parties are feeling the heat of an intensifying global economic challenge to the U.S. and are looking for ways to take the pressure off their voters.

The Republican Convention and the Ron Paul Revolution / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2012
The Grand Old Party produced a scripted appeal to the faithful. The 2012 Republican Party convention in Tampa, designed to sell a filtered image of a country club version of conservatism, begs the historic substance of a traditional embodiment of true timeless values. Hitting a range of obligatory themes is not equivalent to standing for the principles of a constitutional republic. Appealing to the estranged elements of the GOP needs more than words to restore faith and hope. Reasoned policy stands require a refutation of the failure of the Neoconservative agenda. So do not be duped by the language in the platform.

Clint Eastwood Lets the RNC Warmongers Make His Day / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2012
Academy Award-winning actor, director, and producer, Clint Eastwood was the RNC's Mystery Speaker on the last night of the Tampa convention.
At 82, he still retains his charismatic strength and charm. He’s no novice in the political arena, either, and has voiced his opposition to war for a long time. This speech has the MSM and GOP chickenhawks in a dither. What else do we need to know?

Obama's Keynesian Jungle, Expropriation and Benefactions / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2012
Anne Wortham writes: At President Barack Obama's first rally of his 2012 reelection campaign at Ohio State University, he declared that, in the spirit of hope and change that he believes elected him, "We will finish what we started … and remind the world once more just why it is that the United States of America is the greatest nation on earth." After reminding his audience that we have more in common as Americans than our political division suggests, he assured them, "I still believe in you, and I'm asking you to keep believing in me."[1] A month later, at a fundraising reception in Atlanta, he sought again to establish affinity and reciprocity with supporters by telling them, "I believe in you. I hope you still believe in me."[2]

GOP Brownshirts Stomp on Ron Paulians / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2012
The latest “rights group” to jump on Russia’s President Putin about ***** Riot is RootsAction. Following the propaganda line that Washington has established, RootsAction’s appeal for money and petition signers states that the three Russian women were sentenced to two years in prison “for the ‘crime’ of performing a song against Russia’s president Vladimir Putin in a Moscow church.”
This statement is a propagandistic misrepresentation of the offense for which the women were tried and convicted.
