Silver is a Low Risk Buy Now! / Commodities / Gold and Silver 2013
Is this a great time to be buying the metals?
The fundamental analysts have good reasons why it should go up. Then again, they have good reasons why it should go down as well. For example a financial regime change in Japan points up. The financial cliff and debt ceiling issues in the USA points down.

Gold Looks Messy Going into 2013, Dollar and Stocks Could Breakdown / Commodities / Gold and Silver 2013
After gold's losses of the past couple of weeks there is increasing talk about its bullmarket being finally over. In this update we will use long-term charts to determine whether these claims have any substance.
On its 12-year chart, which goes back to the start of the bullmarket, we can see that the top boundary of the uptrend from 2006 is defined by the line drawn across 3 important peaks, and it is from this line that the parallel supporting trendline beneath is derived. While there is no law stating that the lower trendline has to be parallel, it is nevertheless likely, and it is regarded as no coincidence that the strong support at recent lows, which needs to hold, and this lower trendline are more or less coincident at this time - if the current reaction continues this is where it should stop and reverse, although as we will see later on the 6-month chart it may not drop back any further than where it is now.

Gold Price Forecast 2013, Buying Opportunity?, is Silver Cheaper? / Commodities / Gold and Silver 2013
Gold and Silver bugs have had an abysmally poor 2012 against expectations for new all time highs, where a 1 year bear market from the August 2011 high into the May 2012 low failed to spark a sustained run to new all time highs. The rally from which petered out by early October at $1800, followed by another trend back to leave Gold at $1657 as per the last close, this despite reams and reams of material plastered all over the internet that hoped for an eventual return to a gold standard or "Sound Money" as being the ultimate outcome of our ongoing global debt and money printing crisis.

Gold Bull Market Forecast to Pause in 2013 / Commodities / Gold and Silver 2013
Many gold analysts are forecasting much higher gold prices in 2013. In this interview with The Gold Report, Rohit Savant, senior commodity analyst at the CPM Group, says he believes all of the positive gold fundamentals, such as global turmoil, are already factored into the gold price. So, in 2013, he sees the trend being flat to down a bit. He also discusses what roles India, China and central banks play in the gold price.
The Gold Report: Rohit, in a recent interview you said gold is "not a guaranteed safe haven." In your view, what are effective ways to preserve capital?

Desperately Seeking A Gold Cycle Low / Commodities / Gold and Silver 2013
A Dollar in decline, a 3 Year Cycle Top, and a “Dollar pummeling into the New Year” all sound wonderful for Gold. Ordinarily of course gold would be rocketing from here as the dollar collapses. For gold to drop this far while the dollar collapses is only masking the true severity of the precious metal decline.
As for the gold Cycle, we officially have to contend with remarking our Cycles to better understand what the market is doing. Remember that Cycles are the true interpretation of what the asset has done, there is no ambiguity, a Cycle by its very definition can never be wrong. The fault lies with the Cyclists, the analyst who attempt to predict the movement of the asset by predicting the type of Cycle we’re going to experience based on pasted evidence.

Why Gold Price MUST Go Higher 2013 / Commodities / Gold and Silver 2013
Ooops! Just when everyone said gold must go higher – immediately...!
MARKETS are made of opinions, some better than others.
There are always plenty of opinions about gold. And right now they're clearly making the market. Just not in the way you would think.

Gold, Stocks Sell Signal / Commodities / Gold and Silver 2013
The sell signal is not yet definitively bearish because even at $1560, gold will be “trading” within the confines of a well established range. Nevertheless, the target measured move of $1109 on the 3% X 3 box reversal P&F chart looks less ridiculous than it did a few weeks ago.

Can Gold Keep Its Luster in 2013? / Commodities / Gold and Silver 2013
Gold took a double hit recently based partly on a news item from the rumor mill that a large fund in Asia was selling to "run the stops."
"The sale looks like a carefully crafted trade prepped and successfully executed by a well known $14b US fund," according to one source. "Prior to the sale there had been an unusually large purchase of gold 'puts' - a leveraged options play that profits from a downward spike in prices. There had also been some early selling on the overnight electronic platform presumably to test the waters before the big guns fired a devastating salvo."

How Will I Know When To Sell My Gold? / Commodities / Gold and Silver 2013
NEVER sell your gold because you want to hold it for the rest of your life and pass it on to your grandchildren.
Or
Sell your gold NOW (big mistake – my opinion) if you believe that gold is in a bubble or never should have been bought (as per “gold-bashers” Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger).

Pent-Up Potential for Gold and Silver in 2013 / Commodities / Gold and Silver 2013
Debt, not the fiscal cliff, is what concerns Jason Hamlin, publisher of the Gold Stock Bull newsletter, and if his prediction of a split in the EU comes to pass, it will bolster the case for gold equities. He shares his preference for royalty streamers and prospect generators in the gold space and explains his attraction to graphite in this Gold Report interview.
TGR: Jason, you recently told your Gold Stock Bull readers that you had sold some equities. What were your reasons for selling?

Central Banks Hedge Their Bets With Gold / Commodities / Gold and Silver 2013
Gold appears to be headed for an impressive price appreciation for the second half of 2012. Since the beginning of July, gold is up almost 10 over the same time frame. What is noteworthy here is that in recent months, fears of a worldwide recession have increased markedly. It used to be considered axiomatic that recession created adverse conditions for commodities (a reality that has helped push down the price of crude oil thus far in 2012). How then can we understand the movement in gold?
