The Deplorables Have A Message / Politics / Social Issues
European Commission president Jean-Claude Junger just made a speech in which he said the following about President Elect Trump: “We will need to teach the president-elect what Europe is and how it works…”
What an arrogant, condescending, pretentious, pompous, ninny. Seems that Mr. Junger needs to learn about the real america and it ain’t the sissy-pants, college campus, socialists he has been talking to. Allow me the opportunity to help out Mr. Junger to better his understanding of the Trump phenomena.

Brahms & Democracy / Politics / Social Issues
In November of 1876, one hundred and forty years ago, Johannes Brahms’ monumental First Symphony was first heard, performed in Karlsruhe, Germany. The much anticipated work – which took Brahms over 20 years to complete – has become part of the cannon of Western music. Ironically, the premier of The Ring by Brahms’ supposed rival and fellow musical genius, Richard Wagner, was performed for the first time in the same year.

Trump Triumphs as UK Brexit Faces a Serious Threat / Politics / BrExit
Brexit and the Donald Trump presidential victory should rightly be viewed as the most significant international developments of the last decade. Both events illustrate a breaking down of globalist order and they both threaten the entrenched elite that has so ruthlessly and painfully hurt the middle and working classes. But as Trump supporters revel in the largely unanticipated victory, Brexit faces a serious new challenge.

Good Trump, Bad Trump – What’s Really Going On? / Politics / US Politics
We expected the Super Shemitah/Jubilee time period (which officially ends on November 20th with the end of the Catholic Jubilee) to be one of dramatic change and chaos.
And, did we ever get it!
Since the beginning of the Jubilee year, in October of last year, two massive events have happened. Brexit and Trump.

Memo to the Next US Administration: Defense Spending Must Be For Actual Defense / Politics / US Military
In a disturbing indication of how difficult it would be to bring military spending in line with actual threats overseas, House Armed Services Chairman Rep. Mac Thornberry (R – TX) told President Obama last week that his war funding request of $11.6 billion for the rest of the year was far too low. That figure for the last two months of 2016 is larger than Spain's budget for the entire year! And this is just a "war-fighting" supplemental, not actual "defense" spending! More US troops are being sent to Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, and elsewhere and the supplemental request is a way to pay for them without falling afoul of the "sequestration" limits.

Hillary Points Fingers the Wrong Way for Losing to Trump / Politics / US Presidential Election 2016
Hillary consistently blames others for her deplorable public record as first lady, US senator and secretary of state - serious wrongdoing enough to land ordinary people in prison longterm for committing any one of her numerous high crimes.
In a Saturday conference call to donors contributing $100,000 or more to her campaign, she was at it again, blaming FBI director James Comey for reopening his investigation into her email scandal in late October after 650,000 new ones were discovered.

Trumpnomics – Reinventing Political Economy for America and Its Forgotten People and the World under Donald Trump / Politics / US Politics
The core of the economic policies of Donald Trump, on the basis of what he has said so far, is for rebuilding America and empowering its forgotten people. For the last twenty years American economy has been reduced into mere Corporate Economics centered on the Service Sector, ignoring the Primary Sector – Agriculture, Mining, Fishing, Diary and Rural America- and the Secondary or Industrial Sector that are the real backbone of America. As a result, America has acquired several characteristics of a Third World Country. Further, America has created a large number of the victims ,especially the rural people and the blue color workers , known as ‘ the forgotten people of America’ consisting of not only the white, but also the colored, including the Latinos, who made Donald Trump, the President of America.

Trump & The Fed / Politics / US Politics
There is critical information in the first 45 seconds of the Donald Trump campaign video below. Now the election is over, and this nonpartisan analysis is not about campaigns, politics or who should have been elected - but some absolutely fundamental changes that could be on the way.
The video was Trump's closing argument for his election, and was released on November 6th.

Midnight in America / Politics / US Politics
Stunned political analysts are missing the most plausible argument explaining Donald Trump's unexpected victory. The misreading of the American electorate stems from the political class' acceptance of mistaken (and increasingly insane) economic dogma that has arisen over the past generation. Based on their flawed understanding of economics, the pundits could simply not understand why the electorate had become totally disillusioned.

After The Trump Election Triumph / Politics / US Politics
The Trump victory was a "stunning surprise" to Washington and mainstream media. But it was very much in line with voter distrust in both Clintons and Washington’s ruling class.Politically, Americans are fed up. In cooperation with the Democratic National Committee, the Clinton campaign had far too cozy ties with Wall Street, neoconservatives and Pentagon contractors, as well as mainstream media organizations; from CNN and New York Times to Huffington Post and Google.

America is The Poisoned Chalice / Politics / US Debt
Neither candidate in the US presidential election has had many specifics to offer on their economic ideas and projected policies, and that may be a smart move for both. If only because none of the two has indicated any real understanding of what awaits America as per November 9. And I don’t mean where the stock markets will be tomorrow morning, or the price of gold, though short term volatility is obviously certain.
The November 7 rally on Wall Street made plenty clear where everyone’s bets are placed -on Hillary-, so much so that there’s not much of a rally left if she wins. A Trump win could well see some panic, downward pressure for the dollar and stocks, upward pressure for gold, but there’s no telling how long that would last.

Washington’s Post-Election Gridlock and Africa / Politics / US Politics
After the bizarre 2016 election, Washington faces a slate of legal investigations, a massive political gridlock, the threat of new Cold Wars and possibly a contested election. What does it mean to Africa?Last July, FBI Director James Comey closed the probe of Hillary Clinton’s emails and decided not to pursue charges, which resulted in broad criticism. Recently, Comey re-opened the case following a discovery of new emails. In addition to the Benghazi and FBI debacles, these efforts are likely to include some 50,000 emails from Wikileaks, particularly those of John Podesta, Clinton campaign manager and chair of the Center of American Progress (CAP).

Paranoia Deepens in US as Cyber-attacks Prepare Post-Election Tumult / Politics / Cyber War
Paranoia makes whole populations manipulable. Over time, crisis after crisis, it builds globalism and creates cultural homogenization.
Just today, WikiLeaks claimed it had been hit with a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack, supposedly to prevent it from distributing additional information that would prove negative to the Clinton camp.
This is part of a much larger paranoiac atmosphere. Paranoia is running rampant in US federal elections. We recognize the paranoia because we’ve covered the trends that cause it for years.

Overcoming the Middle-Income Trap with Structural Reforms / Politics / Social Issues
According to the World Bank, China is an upper-middle-income country. However, only structural reforms will allow China to surpass the middle-income trap.According to a recent report by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), China has entered the ranks of the so-called “upper-middle-income” countries. It has triggered a fair amount of interest among those Chinese who are concerned for the middle-income trap; that is, a status quo in which a country attains a certain level of income but gets stuck at that level.

Regardless of How America Votes, Americans Want a Different Foreign Policy / Politics / US Politics
I have said throughout this presidential campaign that it doesn't matter much which candidate wins. Both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are authoritarians and neither can be expected to roll back the leviathan state that destroys our civil liberties at home while destroying our economy and security with endless wars overseas. Candidates do not matter all that much, despite what the media would have us believe. Ideas do matter, however. And regardless of which of these candidates is elected, the battle of ideas now becomes critical.

Here’s the Proven Model That Could Save Health Care and the US Economy / Politics / Healthcare Sector
Millions of Americans are learning just how much their Obamacare premiums will be next year. But even if you have health coverage through your employer—or you’re 65+ and on Medicare, like me—you’re going to see severe inflation in the healthcare part of your budget.
But there’s a possible solution to the healthcare problem. The Cleveland Clinic has achieved remarkable results with its 100,000+ employees and dependents. They are making people healthier and reducing medical costs. And it’s a model that I think could work on a much broader scale.

This US Election is a Chance for the Republicans to Build a New Coalition / Politics / US Politics
BY GEORGE FRIEDMAN : The election is far from over, and given the pattern of this election, nothing can be taken for granted. So while (at the moment) Hillary Clinton appears to be winning, less than two weeks remain.
I generally focus on the broad geopolitical forces that shape and reshape the world. But, there are two reasons to be interested in this US election.
First, shifts in the behavior of the US affect geopolitics globally. Second, this election has revealed some profound changes in the underlying dynamics of American politics.

Russia–US Tensions Likely to Rise in 2017 / Politics / GeoPolitics
There will be increased tensions between Russia and the US in the near future. That is the opinion of Jacob Shapiro, director of analysis for Geopolitical Futures. He argues that a Clinton win means the relationship between the US and Russia is going to worsen.
In an interview with Mauldin Economics, Shapiro begins by calling the Clinton campaign email leaks a “political sideshow.” He does not think it is a big deal, even if it was done by Russian hackers.

American Civil War II - Fourth Turning Intensifying (Part I) / Politics / US Politics
"History offers even more sobering warnings: Armed confrontation usually occurs around the climax of Crisis. If there is confrontation, it is likely to lead to war. This could be any kind of war - class war, sectional war, war against global anarchists or terrorists, or superpower war. If there is war, it is likely to culminate in total war, fought until the losing side has been rendered nil - its will broken, territory taken, and leaders captured." - The Fourth Turning - Strauss & Howe -1997
