Baidu - BIDU China Stock Price Analysis Forecast 2023 / Companies / China Stocks

By: Nadeem_Walayat

Ai Stocks Portfolio

A quick look at the current state of my portfolio which is now 88.5% invested after arrival of approx 5% of fresh cash and after I sold all of my NBIX holding given that it earlier retreated from a multi year high, and that it tends to trade within a range of $125 to $76. I have update the table to indicate when columns were last updated. I have also replaced the beta column with something more useful called Future Growth (1-10), which is basically how I see the COMPANY doing in terms of future growth potential where 10 is the highest and 1 is the lowest, note this does not mean that the stock prices will match growth potential due to a myriad of factors such as sentiment, valuation and politics, but it gives insight into the underlying prospects for the businesses where the two stocks that score 10 are AMD and TSMC which is why I am heavily invested in both and don't fret about stock price drops in either as recently experienced because the underlying businesses have huge long-term future growth potential. Stocks that score 9 are Nvidia, Facebook, ASML and IBM, which again means I am not too phased by what we recently witnessed with the likes of META and and Nvidia, stock prices rarely reflect the actual state of the underlying business as they oscillate between extreme fear and extreme FOMO as illustrated when one watches the Cartoon Network (CNBC).

TENCENT- Chinese High Risk GAMING Metaverse Stock Analysus for Investing 2022 and Beyond / Companies / China Stocks

By: Nadeem_Walayat

Tencent, China's gaming giant's stock price has collapsed under the weight of the communist dictatorships enthusiasm to control the minds of China's masses. They don't want workers to 'waste' time playing video games when they can be busy building skyscrapers even 'ghost' cities that few will ever live in that are already fast crumbling into dust. Still Tencent gives on exposure to potentially hundreds of millions of chinese gamers who are even more eager to seek escape from a totalitarian state into the virtual freedom of virtual worlds.

The financials for Tencent are neither great nor bad, as the corporations' earnings are suffering in response to CCP mafia style interference, demanding their VIG or the corporation will be put up against a wall and SHOT as some have been. Despite this the long-term trend trajectory of the corporations financials appear good i.e. extract short-term noise and look at the big picture and we are are going to see a doubling in revenues and profits over the next 3-4 years which should resolve in at least a doubling in the stock price. The current PE of 20 is the lowest the stocks traded at for at least 5 years so the stock is cheap.

Chinese Tech Stocks CCP Paranoia, VIES - Variable Interest Entities / Companies / China Stocks

By: Nadeem_Walayat

Don Xi Jin Ping Corleone continues to extract an ever escalating VIG from the chinese tek giants, three of which Bidu, Alibaba and Tencent perked my recent interest to start accumulating into once they crossed below a PE of 20 and for the fact their earnings growth continues to compound on an exponential trend trajectory, so buying chinese stocks should be a no brainier over a 3 to 5 year hold, i.e. new all time highs should be eventually a done deal.

However, as I keep pointing out we are dealing with a mafia enterprise in the Chinese Criminal Party (CCP) and so all must bow their heads down before Emperor Xi Jin Ping who has all the whole marks of absolute power having gone to his head, i.e. he is starting to go the way of all dictators by going a little insane, demanding tributes to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars. For instance Tencent recently pledged to offer the crime syndicate $100 billion, likely soon to be followed by the other tek giants.

At this point in time it is difficult to say how long the tech blood bath will continue until the mafia that runs China has gorged itself full on hundreds of billions of dollars, but at this point in time I still see a fall in the chinese tech stocks as being temporary for I can not imagine that the Chinese mafia will actually kill the goose that lays the golden eggs, I am sure there will be some confucius quotes being brought to the attention of Xi Jin Ping.

BAIDU (BIDU) Illustrates Why You Should NOT Invest in Chinese Stocks / Companies / China Stocks

By: Nadeem_Walayat

The juggernaut that is Artificial Intelligence continues to rumble along towards an inexorable future, one that most still fail to grasp the magnitude of the changes that are just around the corner as humans think in linear terms whilst the AI trend is EXPONENTIAL. Where developments that even the proponents of AI thought would take several years are taking place in mere MONTHS! That is the power of the unfolding AI MEGA-TREND!

AI has already CHANGED THE WORLD! EXPONENTIALLY! You have an AI super computer right in your pocket for likely less than £1000!

Especially, when one marries AI with other big world changing tech mega-trend "Quantum Computing"! Put the 2 together and we are literally going to see an explosion in SUPER INTELLGENCE that would soon far exceed that of human intelligence, following which it won't be that many years before the AI exceeds the intelligence of the sum of ALL humans! For better or worse, that's the path we are on.

Watch For +15% Move In Chinese Stocks / Stock-Markets / China Stocks

By: Chris_Vermeulen

Last week we had strong numbers out of China and our research continues to suggest the Chinese stock market could be poised for an upside price rally of at least 15% over the next 30+ days before possibly reaching a peak in June or July 2019.  Our Fibonacci predictive modeling system is suggesting a target level of $30.50 to $31.50 (in YINN) as an immediate upside profit range.

We believe the continued pricing pressures of 2018 are easing as continued negotiations with US trade officials have everyone in high hopes for a suitable and equitable outcome.  Our researchers believe the upside in the Chinese stock market could be as high as $32 to $36 in YINN before the June/July peak is reached.  This would represent a +25% to +40% upside price objective from recent highs.

The Global Rise of Chinese Corporate Giants / Companies / China Stocks

By: Dan_Steinbock

Only a decade ago, Chinese companies accounted for barely 1 percent of the world’s largest companies and multinationals. Today, their share has grown by more than tenfold.

After mid-November, Alibaba again won the highest ecommerce sales day in history on China’s Singles’ Day beating last year’s record by almost 40 percent – hitting some $25.4 billion.

In the United States, the 2016 combined Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales amounted to $6.5 billion, while Amazon’s 2017 Prime Day sales rose to $600 million to $1 billion range. Even combined, all of these revenues account for less than one-third of Alibaba’s Singles’ Day sales.

China Stocks: Investment Strategies to Declaw the Dragon - Video / Companies / China Stocks

By: ...

Bill Patalon writes:Back in the go-go 1980s, Japan was the economy every investor respected – and feared. Wall Streeters even had a saying that reflected this, telling investors, “When Tokyo sneezes, Wall Street catches a cold.

Fast-forward 30 years. Asia has once again become a global economic linchpin. But now it’s Beijing – not Tokyo – that has investors feeling alternately awed… and fearful. That mix of emotions is exactly why so many analysts refer to China as a “dragon” as part of their financial and economic analyses.

China Crisis Stock Market Hyper-Oversold Condition Calls for Bounce - Target... / Stock-Markets / China Stocks

By: Clive_Maund

It's a shame more Chinese investors didn't get to read our timely warning of an impending mega-smash in the Chinese stockmarket - it would have been worth the cost of a subscription TO AVOID LOSING THEIR LIFE'S SAVINGS.

It was mentioned as an aside yesterday's update on the oil sector, in which we took huge profits in United States Oil Fund Puts, that the Chinese market was massively oversold and now exhibiting extreme technical compression and thus starting to look attractive for a rebound, and we will now proceed to see exactly why that is on the charts for the Shanghai Composite Index.

Is China Economy a Fire-Breathing Dragon or a Dragon on Fire? / Companies / China Stocks

By: ...

MoneyMorning.com Shah Gilani writes: Over the last several weeks, I’ve been telling you about “Disruptors,” the economic catalysts that are serving as agents of change in every geographic market, business sector and asset class you can think of.

These Disruptors create winners in some situations, and dislocations in others. And every change brings with it identifiable profit plays.

And if there’s one Disruptor story that has dominated the headlines – and the global financial markets – over the past two decades… it’s China.

China’s Stock Market Mania; How High can Red-chips Fly? / Stock-Markets / China Stocks

Recognized as the world’s single biggest attraction for high rollers at the gambling tables, Macau is the only location in the People’s Republic of China where betting on the Roll of the dice is legal. Macau is a just short ferry ride from Hong Kong, through which many mainlanders travel to get to the casinos. As such, the former Portuguese colony saw its annual casino and entertainment revenues soar to a combined $44-billion in 2014; or 7-times that of the Las Vegas Strip. For Macau, the boom times began in 2010 when casino revenues increased +58% and was followed by a +42% gain in 2011.

China’s Rising: Best Investment Vehicle to Make Money From It / Companies / China Stocks

By: DailyGainsLetter

George Leong writes: While China is struggling with its gross domestic product (GDP) growth metrics, the country’s main stock market—the Shanghai Composite Index (SCI)—is easily outperforming the S&P 500 and NASDAQ.

China may be stalling, but the Chinese economy is still growing at a rate of more than seven percent—far better than the rest of the G8 countries. Now, of course, that’s if you believe the GDP reading that is put forth by the Chinese government; as with most data coming from China, it is up for debate whether it is real or fictitious.

China Stock Investing - Follow the Money! / Stock-Markets / China Stocks

By: Ned_W_Schmidt

On morning of 17 November, while Western investors were sleeping, China opened the door to its investment world. On that day China began two way trading between the Shanghai and Hong Kong stock exchanges. This development essentially opened the Chinese stock market to investors around the world through Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect. They said to investors around the world, "Welcome, just bring your money and come right in".

Investors would be well advised to be aware of the money flowing into the Chinese stock market, and possible ramifications of that money movement.

Since late last week, worries about slowing growth, financial-system shenanigans, and the potential for an "Asian Contagion" type spillover have whacked global stocks - and have left folks wondering if the Chinese Miracle is over.

But China's kind of like a still-young tech venture: There are going to be reversals, it's going to be volatile, and it's normal to expect this kind of whipsaw market action.

Ignore the Next Fed Chairman Debate… Asia is in Collapse / Stock-Markets / China Stocks

By: Graham_Summers

The big news is what’s going on in Asia.

The US financial media continues to focus on who will be the next Fed Chairman, which is unimportant in the grand scheme of things. Greenspan created the biggest asset bubble in history. Bernanke bankrupted the republic and created an even bigger bubble trying to prove his misguided theories. Whoever takes over the reins at the Fed next will simply have the honor of being in the driver’s seat when the whole mess goes over the cliff.

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleWith negative sentiment toward China reaching an extreme in recent months, patient investors have been rewarded with recent news of improving data from the Asian giant.

Real urban disposable income grew nearly 10 percent and real rural disposable income rose more than 12 percent during the first three quarters of the year. And, while export numbers are weak, China has “so far avoided the large-scale export-sector layoffs that led to 2009’s massive stimulus,” says Andy.

RENN, The Facebook of China / Companies / China Stocks

By: George_Maniere

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleEvery weekend I go through a different sector and I pull up companies and then I go through their chart. Going through the technical analysis portion process usually takes the list down to 20 stocks or so. I will then take those 20 stocks and do the fundamental analysis on the companies. I look for market capitalization, revenue, growth, P/E and get a feeling if this company is something that interests me.

Chinese Internet Stocks Getting Crushed / Stock-Markets / China Stocks

By: Trader_Mark

It looks in retrospect that RenRen (RENN) was the top of the "chinese internet/ social media" bubble, at least this time around. [May 2, 2011: RenRen IPO Appetite Seen as Huge, but Red Flags Abound] [Apr 19, 2011: RenRen Set to IPO May 4th] That broken IPO has been a disaster, as we warned. (IPO Priced at $14, first day mark at $24!) At this pace it may actually go low enough where I'd be interested!

What China's Rising Wages Mean for Investors / Stock-Markets / China Stocks

By: Money_Morning

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleJason Simpkins writes: There's a sea change underway in China's economy - one that's evident in soaring prices, shrinking trade surpluses, and higher property values. And it's being driven by higher wages for workers that for decades have been grossly underpaid.

From the country's fast-growing urban centers to its frontier countryside, wages are rising rapidly across China.

By: Dian_L_Chu

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleWhile the world is still unwrapping the surprise Christmas gift from China in the form of a interest rate hike of 25 basis points, this other piece of news with ample implication to the auto industry seems to have gone largely under the radar--The City of Beijing will limit the number of new license plates issued in 2011 to 240,000 to help control traffic congestion. Xinhua reported that car buyers in Beijing will have to draw lots before obtaining a vehicle license plate.

Chinese Stocks, Is Red China Rolling Over? / Stock-Markets / China Stocks

By: Peter_Navarro

I have begun to cash out of many of my positions and take profits in anticipation of a flat to down US market until the end of December. Both tax selling and the taking of profits coupled with uncertain outlooks in communist China and in the PIGG portion of Europe suggest less upside reward than an undeniably strong technical market trend might suggest at this point. Better to be early than late is my motto.

By: Tony_Sagami

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleThe political and financial leaders from the world’s 20 largest economies, or Group of 20, gathered in Seoul, Korea last week to solve all the world’s economic problems.

Well, at least they think they can but that is the foolish arrogance of all politicians who think that government policy is more effective than free markets. Not much happens at these G-20 meetings, and this one was no different. There was a lot of finger pointing and tough talking, however, and most of it was directed at China from our White House.

Stocks With China Economic Growth Connections / Stock-Markets / China Stocks

By: Mike_Paulenoff

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleChina's growth prospects have brightened, as we look at in detail in our video this week, and here are charts of a number of stocks which may benefit from China's move.

One is United States Steel Corp. (X), which should benefit from China procurement of steel and heavy building materials. U.S. Steel has a pretty nice pattern, somewhat similar to the Shanghai Composite Index. U.S. Steel had an initial up move, got hung up at 50-51, pulled back, and now looks like it is ready to go again, holding its shorter-term moving averages and looking like it could be in a position to attack again the 200-day moving average, which isn’t falling, by the way, but rather rising.

Why China’s Economy Will Exceed Expectations in the Second Half of 2010 / Stock-Markets / China Stocks

By: Money_Morning

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleLarry D. Spears writes: The rapid growth China's economy experienced in the first half of the year was a blessing and a curse. It helped propel the world out of a disastrous recession, but it forced policymakers into action to prevent overheating - which scared off many investors.

But the fact is that while most of the world was struggling to keep the engine of economic recovery from sputtering to a halt, China spent the first half of 2010 with its foot on the brake. And now that the Red Dragon has reigned in growth, the second half of 2010 will likely look very different from the first.

If my work is correct, then today’s up-gap open, followed by strong continuation, inaugurated a powerful new recovery rally period that projects initially towards a test of the prior rally peak at 9.05. Only a decline that breaks 8.38 will begin to compromise my current outlook.

China Digital, Tuning in on Future Growth / Companies / China Stocks

By: Oxbury_Research

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleIt's no secret that 2008 was an abysmal year on Wall Street—the worst, in fact, since 1931. The Dow lost 33.8% of its value, while the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq fell 38.5% and 40.5%, respectively.

On the other side of the globe the markets fared even worse. The Chinese economy, while still growing rapidly, has hit a major speed bump. After a red-hot 2007 that saw China's benchmark CSI 300, a cap-weighted index tracking 300 A-share stocks listed on the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges, gain over 125%, Chinese stocks cooled considerably in 2008. After all was said and done, the index sank 66%.

By: Money_and_Markets

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleTony Sagami writes: When Martin called me for a chat the other day, I had no idea he was going to record it, put it up on the Web, and give all of our readers a chance to hear it.

But I'm glad he did — for two reasons: First, because I'm headed for Shenzhen next week on a special new mission — to visit the company that I think will benefit more from the energy crisis than any company in Asia, and perhaps in the world. And second, because, with the latest correction, these stocks are now dirt cheap.

How to Cash in on China's Chuppies' Spending Spree / Stock-Markets / China Stocks

By: Money_and_Markets

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleTony Sagami writes: Even though I'm the right age, I've never considered myself to be a yuppie. Even when I was young and dumb, I never drove a BMW ... bought a Rolex ... or belonged to a country club. But I know a yuppie when I see one and China is full of them.

And unlike the U.S. where there is debate about how rapidly the economy and consumer spending are slowing, chuppies are making sure there is no such concern in China.

By: Money_and_Markets

Tony Sagami writes: When it comes to China, the media has been focused on the riots in Tibet and the protests following the Olympic torch around the globe.

For emerging market investors, getting swept away by newspaper headlines is a huge, not to mention costly, mistake.

Chinese Stock Market Pull Back A Great Buying Opportunity / Companies / China Stocks

By: Money_and_Markets

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleThe Olympics have long been a boon to stock markets of host countries. The Spanish stock market climbed 19% in the 12 months prior to the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, while the Greek stock market jumped by 27% in the year before the 2004 Athens Olympics.

And those countries were not growing at a fraction of the breakneck pace that China is. So it wouldn't surprise me to see the Chinese stock market double or even triple those numbers. Specific stocks could do even better.

By: Money_and_Markets

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleTony Sagami writes: You know all about the idiocy of the subprime mortgage insanity ... the popping of the U.S. real estate bubble ... and the billions in write-downs from financial institutions.

But today I want to tell you about a real estate boom that's still underway, and is likely to continue for years, even decades. I'm also going to tell you about a company that's well positioned to mint money in the process.

China's Earth-Shattering Growth News / Stock-Markets / China Stocks

By: Money_and_Markets

Tony Sagami writes: Last week, I told you how typhoon Man-yi, which forced more than 30,000 people from their homes in southwestern Japan, completely disrupted our travel plans.

Then, once we arrived in Nagano, an earthquake shook our room at the Saihokukan Hotel! The tremors were so powerful that they damaged the tracks on the Nagano-Dentetsu train line.

Profit from China's Railroad Expansion / Companies / China Stocks

By: Michael_K_Dawson

Many thought that Warren Buffet had lost his touch when he continued buying old boring companies in the late nineties when clearly technology stocks were the key to riches.  Today, how many wished that they had bought McDonald's instead of Microsoft in 1999? Last week, news surfaced that he was buying into another industry that doesn't have much appeal to modern investors.  The smirks have long since faded.  Now Buffet creates a buzz.

According to a filing with regulators, Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. had amassed a 10.9% stake, worth more than $3 billion, in railroad operator Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corp.  A Berkshire Hathaway spokeswoman also confirmed to Reuters that the company was investing nearly $1.4bn in two other unnamed railroad groups as well.  Once again Buffet is doing what no one does better – investing in long term growth opportunities.

The Ethics of Investing in China / Politics / China Stocks

By: Sarah_Jones

During the last 15 years, China has seen remarkable economic growth and development as rampant capitalism takes hold. Unfortunately whilst the country has developed economically, it has by and large stood still in terms of human rights.

The latest in a long stream and the most shocking to date of abuses in human rights for big business is surge in the level of executions in China geared towards the burgeoning and highly lucrative organ transplants sold to foreigners who need transplants.
