Commodities are trying to hold their ground and could go either way quickly. There is a lot of chatter going on about gold and silver. I am hearing extreme theories from everyone I talk with. Generally when I see the market get jumpy we tend to see volatility increase which translates into sharp rallies or sell offs.

The statement…”Millions of dollars of profit for trend followers and commodity traders” are not a figment of my imagination. In Alpha Magazine in March of 2009 they listed the top 25 earners for 2008. The fact the top 25 are involved in futures trading and more so…trend following

A question I encounter often is, what are the correlations between your trading and other commodity trading advisors. More so…what makes you different.. Both are great questions..First in my opinion out of the thousands of commodity trading advisors, I would only consider diversified trend followers. The rising tide lifts all boats, and that is exactly what we saw last week. Gold, silver, oil, natural gas, and stocks all put in a solid bounce last week.
All our funds put in solid moves with GLD, SLV and GDX all breaking out of their down trend channels which is bullish. While they have generated breakout buy signals we continue to wait for more price action to unfold before putting our hard earned money to work. Each of these funds currently have over 3% down side risk so no position will be taken at this time.

The broad market including commodities is under some serious selling pressure as traders and investors panic to exit positions. Today small caps stocks and commodities took the majority of the beating. Although the market looks bearish at this point, I do think there is a very good chance of a bounce Thursday and Friday, but I figure we will see selling into the close on Friday as traders stay in cash over the weekend.
