Crude Oil and Copper Better Value Than Gold / Commodities / Commodities Trading
There have been some nice pullbacks in commodities like copper and crude (Chart 1), which should trend significantly higher by year-end. Both crude oil and copper tumbled after the Labor Department May jobs report and the fear about Europe heightened by the total clueless-about-financial-markets comment from Hungary’s Prime Minister.

Hurricane Season Crude Oil and Natural Gas Profits / Commodities / Commodities Trading
The 2010 Atlantic hurricane season officially starts on June 1. But smart traders are already gearing up. Copper Again Struggles at 76.4% Resistance / Commodities / Commodities Trading
In early 2010 the recovery in Copper (COMEX) was halted by a long term 76.4% retracement level, although the ensuing pullback proved short-lived. More recently this resistance has been tested again, and again the reaction has been negative.

Bullish Green Shoots in EUA Carbon Emissions / Commodities / Commodities Trading
For the best part of a year a consolidation pattern has been unfolding in the EUA (ICE ECX) contract, activity quietening down notably this year. Bears have proved unable to drive the market below key support and, now, an interesting upside break is in process.

Technical Trading Setups on Gold, Silver, Oil and Natural Gas ETF’s / Commodities / Commodities Trading
This week has been playing out as expected with prices grinding their way higher and lots of sharp intraday sell offs and rallies which is indicative of a market getting toppy.
Seems like the masses feel as though they are getting left behind which is why we are starting to see the panic buying in the market (new money buying at these lofty overbought prices).

Metal Tiger… / Commodities / Commodities Trading
A sign of the times is seen in the deal the CME Group (CME-N), umbrella for the Chicago and NYMEX commodity bourses, is buying 90% of the Dow Jones index system from News Corporation (NWS-Q). The traditional newspaper business is having a tough go competing with the internet, which prompts the sale. One could argue this is another example of the commodities space taking up some of the ground opened by the past decade’s bear market for equities.
