While risk assets attempt to break free of their bearish corrections, gold’s relative outperformance has the yellow metal shining bright. Despite that, we’ve booked 11-straight profitable trades, and our 12th (currently open) remains in the green. As a result, our success highlights why mining stocks are often better trading instruments than the yellow metal.
Furthermore, while gold has largely sidestepped the recent risk rout, a recession is bearish for nearly all assets, and gold should suffer mightily if (when) the economic pain unfolds.

We have used this daily chart of the gold stock ETF, GDX in written and video updates to keep NFTRH subscribers apprised of the progress of the bounce from the early October low (after previously using the chart to manage the long correction that began with the May double top).
Let’s update the daily technical situation by noting that the GDX rally has halted where it should have halted, as we’ve expected resistance at or below the 200 day moving average (30.49) and/or clear visual resistance at 30. The pullback is in progress and has done a good thing by filling the upper gap as it grinds and tests the 50 day moving average. All normal.

A peak under the hood, very slow / stagnant growth, current PE is 12.6 but with share dilution of 93.% will put downwards pressure on the PE and thus upwards pressure on the stock price, suggests that Paypal's bear market should be ending and if the buy backs continue then it should trend higher. throw in multiple expansion during a bull market and the stock price could target a 50% advance within the 2 years or so years off current $60 so to $90, throw in a bit of fomo and paypal could easily see $100, so I will be accumulating a little as a trade similar to the bond trade that targets a 50% return over 2 years though no dividend with paypal, so definitely not an invest and forget stock.

The buying range for Nvidia is $322 to $262, which would take a spectacular collapse of 26% on the current price to the top of the range, never mind the waterfall of 40% down to $262, so the buying range is a tough ask which are a function of the fact of Nvidia's over valuation, as was the case during the 2nd half of 2021 there is no point in chasing after overvaluation a lesson learned by all those who held on during the roller coaster ride from $330 down to $110. So yes it is possible that Nvidia pulls another rabbit out of the hat and all we get was the drop to $400, that is the reality of the stock market, you don't always get what you want. And no, you can not invest with the benefit of hindsight!
