Not All Commodities Stocks are Treated Equal (Part 2) / Commodities / Investing 2009

By: Oxbury_Research

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleThe first part of this two-part series essentially looked into the different effects monetary occurrences and supply and demand fundamentals can have on commodity prices. Monetary authorities around the world are implementing rampart growth in the money supply and quantitative easing in the form of negative real interest rates; meanwhile, the global economy is in free fall. The factors have opposite effects on commodity prices. We came to the logical conclusion that we wanted to give our portfolio exposure to the commodities that have significant monetary uses, aren't cyclical, or both. Two good examples are gold and the grains. I want to be careful with my next statement.

GOLD At $1000 / Commodities / Gold & Silver 2009

By: Submissions

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleHoward S. Katz writes: Here is the great, grand cycle bull market in gold which started in 2001 and has, thus far, multiplied its price by a factor of 4. (The grand cycle bull market in gold of the 1970s multiplied its price by a factor of 25 before it was over.) It is a simple chart, but it has many important lessons (which few understand). On the central economic question of our time — is there going to be currency depreciation or currency appreciation - this chart speaks volumes.

Gold Safehaven Investing- How to Buy Gold Bullion Online with BullionVault / Commodities / Gold & Silver 2009

By: Nadeem_Walayat

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleThe gold price continues to respond strongly to the global Zero Interest Rate Policies (ZIRP) and "Quantative Easing" aka "Money Printing" that is increasingly setting the scene for the current price deflation as a consequence of the credit bubble bursting and asset price collapse of 2008 to give way to much higher inflation, Gold as a leading indicator of future inflation has again recently crossed back above $1000. Which according to my forecast for 2009 is now due to trigger an imminent significant correction and potential opportunity to accumulate.

By: Adrian_Ash

THE PRICE OF physical gold dipped 1.5% at the New York opening on Tuesday, growing volatile against all major currencies as world stock markets fell for the eleventh session running.

Investors Need to Focus on Agri-Foods Structural Bull Market / Commodities / Agricultural Commodities

By: Ned_W_Schmidt

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleWe have noticed some fundamental differences between the governments of China and the U.S. First, the U.S. government owes the rest of the world almost $11 trillion. China has about $2 trillion of reserves built up over the years. The U.S. Secretary of State was in China this weekend begging for them to buy more U.S. debt. China was noncommittal.

Gold Bull Market Being Driven by Low Interest Rates / Commodities / Gold & Silver 2009

By: Mark_OByrne

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleGold and silver remained resilient yesterday (gold slightly lower; silver slightly higher) despite the continual wave of mini tsunamis shaking the global economy. World stock markets continue to reel from the deterioration of the financial system which is spreading to the global economy and the DJIA fell to levels last seen in 1997 and the Nikkei fell to levels last seen 26 years ago in 1983.

Gold Bull Market, More Strength on the Way / Commodities / Gold & Silver 2009

By: Aden_Forecast

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleGold shot up, reaching a nearly one year high today, and rapidly approaching its record high area.

The ongoing current A rise that started last November is the strongest in this bull market and the strongest since 1999. Since this is an abnormally strong 'A' rise in an abnormal world recession, if gold reaches a new record high above $1004, gold will most likely be embarking on the start of a great bull market rise.

By: Mark_OByrne

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleGold has given up some of last’s weeks very large gains and is down 0.6% after Asian and in early European trading. With gold up some 13% so far in 2009, some correction and consolidation may be necessary prior to overcoming resistance at $1,000/oz.

Gold Bearish Double Top Pattern? / Commodities / Gold & Silver 2009

By: Roland_Watson

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleThe following is taken from our regular weekend update to subscribers. The main question for precious metals investors this week is whether gold is about to form a massive double top. If we pull up the gold chart we have shown on several occasions, we see gold is just about to meet the upper channel line we have suggested it will be bounded by. And guess what? It meets the old NYMEX high of March 17th this week coming. Can anyone say " double top "? The last time gold hit $1000 (March 16th) it peaked the next day and the rest was history.

Precious Metals Stocks Lagging Performance About to End... / Commodities / Gold & Silver Stocks

By: Clive_Maund

Diamond Rated - Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleAlot of subscribers have been perplexed by the relatively miserable, laggardly performance of Precious Metals stocks in recent days as gold and silver have soared, especially against various major world currencies. This is one thing which is easy to explain - they have been held in check by a massive wall of overhanging supply that dates back to the extensive trading around the current price for much of 2006 and 2007, which we have looked at earlier on the 4-year chart for the HUI index.

GLD failure to allow redemptions in gold is suspicious. In fact, only two gold ETFs worldwide allow redemptions in gold, and both of them are located in Switzerland: Gold ETF from Zurich Kantonalbank (ZKB) and Julius Baer (JBGOUA).

Money Printing Means that Gold Will be the Last Man Standing / Commodities / Gold & Silver 2009

By: The_Gold_Report

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleThe Gold Report caught up with newsletter writer and commentator Lou Paquette, who launched the website Emerging Growth Stocks in 1995 to provide investors and speculators with a unique alternative to what he saw was a growing problem with corporate governance and conflict of interest on Wall Street. He believes that as people finally begin to realize that gold is the only asset we can count on any more, the bull market will "come out of its shell." He shares some of his favorite mining companies that are well-positioned to ride out these turbulent times.

Brazil's Ethanol Madness Exposed / Commodities / Ethanol

By: Submissions

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleRobert Bryce writes: For years, the US has been inundated with claims that it should follow Brazil's lead on biofuels. These arguments have largely been made by a small, but influential group of neoconservatives who claim that the US should quit using oil altogether. They claim that using more ethanol – produced from sugar cane, or corn, or some other substance – will impoverish OPEC and America will once again be returned to prosperity.

Gold Stocks Surge / Commodities / Gold & Silver Stocks

By: Zeal_LLC

Diamond Rated - Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleEarlier this week, the US stock markets (S&P 500) fell 4.6% to their lowest close since November 20th's panic low. It was a very unpleasant day as latent fears of bungled government meddling flared up again. But one sector, the gold stocks, was able to buck this very weak tape. That very day the HUI gold-stock index rallied 2.6%.
