Fed Chairman Begs Congress to Stimulate Beleaguered US Economy / Economics / US Economy

By: MoneyMetals

Precious metals investors faced choppy market seas this week.  Gold bobbed to a slight decline while silver essentially treaded water through Thursday’s close. Both are advancing strongly today.

Metals markets are being overshadowed by equities markets. The S&P 500 broke out to a 5-week high on Thursday. The rally comes on a rising tide of Federal Reserve liquidity coupled with on again, off again hopes for a stimulus deal in Washington.

More stimulus is definitely coming. The only question is how many trillions and whether they get dished out before or after the election.

Is Gold Market Going Back Into the 1970s? / Commodities / Gold & Silver 2020

By: Arkadiusz_Sieron

They say that time travels are impossible. But we just went back to the 1960s! At least in the field of the monetary policy. And all because of a new Fed’s framework. So, please fasten your seat belts and come with me into the past and present of monetary policy – to determine the future of gold!

At the end of August 2020, the Fed has modified its Statement on Longer-Run Goals and Monetary Policy Strategy – for the first time since its creation in 2012. As a reminder, the Fed will now target not merely a 2 percent rate of inflation, but an average inflation rate of 2 percent, which allows overshooting after the periods of undershooting. So, the Fed will try to compensate for periods of low inflation with periods of high inflation . Hence, on average , we will see a more accessible monetary policy and higher inflation - Good news for the gold bulls.

Gold and Silver Price Ready For Another Rally Attempt / Commodities / Gold & Silver 2020

By: Chris_Vermeulen

After nearly three weeks of sideways/downward price action in Gold and Silver, our researchers believe both metals have already set up another breakout/rally attempt after breaching downward resistance (shown as the downward sloping CYAN line). This could be another huge opportunity for precious metals traders as the next move higher should prompt a rally above recent highs. That means a target price level in Gold above $2100 and a target price level in Silver above $30.50.

ARE METALS POISED TO RALLY TO NEW HIGHS SOON?

The deep price retracements recently in both Gold and Silver have come from news events. First, the EU Banking Report that destroyed the market on September 21. Then, just recently, the news that President Trump contracted COVID-19. The resilience in both Gold and Silver near these recent lows suggests demand for metals is still skyrocketing – otherwise, we believe much deeper price lows would have been reached.

Stock Market Digestion After Decisive Bullish Trend Day / Stock-Markets / Stock Markets 2020

By: Ricky_Wen

Monday was a "gap up and go" session that did not look back in the rearview mirror as price action was able to decisively break above 3500s on the Emini S&P 500 (ES). This is the 78.6% retracement of the entire drop (3587-3198).

In addition, the market made its way into the 3540s area, which was also a key level around the 88.6% retracement. All in all, it was a decisive daily bullish trend day that also managed to close above two standard deviation channel highs.

Do Low Interest Rates Mean Higher Stocks? Not so Fast… / Stock-Markets / Stock Markets 2020

By: EWI

"Rates Down, Stocks Up"? Myth ... Busted!
Let's address widespread assumptions about interest rates and the stock market

There's a widespread belief that rising interest rates are bad for stocks and a lower interest rate trend is good for stocks.

The reasoning behind that belief is that bonds compete with stocks for investment funds. Hence, the higher the yield investors can get from bonds, the less attractive stocks become and vice-versa.

This assumption sounds logical, but in reality, stock market investors do not take their cue from rising or falling yields (or interest rates).

US Debt Is Going Up but Leaving GDP Behind / Interest-Rates / US Debt

By: John_Mauldin

We have plenty of evidence that US debt will balloon to $50 trillion by 2030, maybe more. Many smart people conclude that, in the meantime, the federal debt isn’t a problem.

Looking at the numbers as a percent of GDP—and considering the CBO long-term forecasts out to 2050—Sam Rines, whom I greatly respect, writes this:

"In its latest round of projections, by far the most intriguing portion of the analysis related to the dynamics around the US federal debt load. The US debt load has increased dramatically due to the response to COVID, but the ability to service the US debt load is actually improving.

Dell S3220DGF 31.5 Inch VA Gaming Monitor Amazon Prime Day Bargain Price! But WIll it Get Delivered? / Personal_Finance / Shopping

By: HGR

I have been wanting to buy a pair of these 31.5inch curved screen Dell gaming monitors for some time, but the price was never right, that is not until Prime Day which saw the price drop from £415 to £379! So no time wasting I immediately bought 2! Though subsequent to purchase it's not clear how soon I well get them delivered. Anyway I've bought 2 at a bargain price that still stands for at least the remainder of Prime Day 2020!

So if your on the look out for a GOOD 32 inch gaming monitor, then the Dell S3220DGF in my opinion is one of the best especially at the current discounted price for £379.

Top Strategies Day Traders Adopt / InvestorEducation / Learn to Trade

By: Submissions

Day trading is an act where you buy and sell financial instruments on the same day. You can also decide to trade multiple times during the course of the day. In the day trading, investors take advantage of the small prices, and results can be lucrative after playing correctly. However, this is a dangerous game, especially for those who are not familiar or inexperienced investors. It is a threat to an investor who utilizes it without having a well-thought strategy.

Day trading does not suit all brokers. But some brokers are designed to have day trade in their mind such as day-traders.net that accommodates investors who want to day trade.

SPX Intermediate trend:  Intermediate correction nearly over?

Analysis of the short-term trend is done daily with the help of hourly charts. It is an important adjunct to the analysis of daily and weekly charts which discuss longer market trends.

Fear Grips Stock Market Short-Sellers -- What to Make of It / Stock-Markets / Stock Markets 2020

By: EWI

"This is easily the lowest wager against rising S&P rises" in the history of the data

As you may know, short-selling a stock means that a speculator is betting that the price will go down.

This is a lot riskier than taking a "long" position in a stock -- or, betting that the price will go up.

The reason why is that the most a speculator can lose by going long is 100% of his investment -- say, if a company goes out of business. However, the losses a short-seller can suffer is potentially unlimited, in other words, short-sellers can lose way more than their initial investment.

For Some Remote Workers, It Pays to Stay Home… If Home Stays Local / Personal_Finance / Employment

By: John_Mauldin

By Dawn Pennington : None of us are medically invincible. We saw that last week when the president and first lady announced they had tested positive for COVID-19.

Remote work has helped to save many jobs and lives. And as coronavirus infection and death rates continue to tick higher, many people are settling into the idea of teleworking for the longer haul.

For some, that means social-distancing from expensive cities and seeking more space in the suburbs or across state lines.

Precious Metals and Commodities Comprehensive / Commodities / Gold & Silver 2020

By: Rambus_Chartology

For the last 2 days our internet has been down which really makes you appreciate this miracle invention. We’ve had intermittent problems through the years that no one has been able to figure out until today. The phone company finally came to the conclusion that there was a tiny defect in their phone line that would only show up from time to time which made the problem so hard to track down. Today they replaced 1/4 of a mile of telephone line which seems to be working. We’ll know in a few days if this fix is going to work which I can already tell is working.

I would like to start out by looking at the long term weekly combo chart for the PM complex we’ve been following since its inception. I’m out of annotations so you’ll have to use your own imagination where the areas that need a trendline or a breakout symbol occurs.

I just wanted to point out that these are massive 4 year reversal patterns that suggests years of bull market price action. A whole lot of energy has now been stored up in these 4 year trading ranges. Big bull markets don’t start from small reversal patterns but the bigger the bottom the bigger the bull market.

The Election Does Not Matter, Stick With Stock Winners Like Clean Energy / Companies / Renewable Energy

By: Chris_Vermeulen

If I put the pandemic aside and ignore the current jobs picture there are many reasons that I am bullish stocks.  Housing continues to remain upbeat with sales near all-time highs and consumer confidence is rising, which means investors’ sentiment will continue to trend higher. What is most important is that stocks that have outperformed in 2020 will likely continue to outperform. So my goal is to focus on the winners and avoid the laggers.

The Election Does Not Matter

It seems clear that investors don’t seem to care who wins the election. Biden is up in the polls, and even though he has repeatedly said that he will raise taxes, the market does not seem to care. If Biden wins he will sign a huge stimulus bill and likely go for an enormous infrastructure spending bill that will propel stocks even higher. If President Trump is reelected, I also expect a stimulus bill with an eventual tax cut. While at Walter Reed Hospital, President Trump tweeted that if he wins he will push for the biggest tax cut in history. The bottom line is that regardless of who wins the presidency, stock prices are likely to continue to trend higher and ignore the weakening economic climate.
