Stock Market Dow Analysis / Stock-Markets / Stock Markets 2018

Previous analysis updated – price as traded as outlined in analysis produced in June.
Pattern – we can see price has rallied nicely in July and I expect some further upside ahead. This is all part of the consolidation that I believe is still in motion. There is a full moon on the 26th August so that is some potential timing for a high. If not, the new moon on the 9th September is another potential timing target. Given the human body is composed of around 60% water and the moon affects the tides, then it should not come as a surprise that the moon is related to the stock market as the chart is just a picture of human behaviour. Just ask any hospital surgeon who will confirm that a surge in patients always occurs on a full moon and that same type of euphoria that causes revellers to hurt themselves on a high can be said of stock market players.

Land Rover Discovery Sport 1st Dealer Oil Change Service - What to Expect / ConsumerWatch / Motoring

Land Rover's sales pitch is that the Discovery Sport's first service is due at 21,000 miles or 2 years, thus saving owners on expensive annual services. That and their service packs only tend to cover for 1 service every 2 years which may be the reason for the 21,000 miles service sales pitch. Unfortunately on the one hand there's the sales pitch and then there's the reality of what to actually expect when owning and driving a Land Rover Discovery Sport as the two don't quite tend to match.
For instance, the internet is littered with comments about how warnings are popping up on owner dashboards requesting an oil service for a potential multitude of reasons such as diesel getting into the engines? which in some examples oil change services are being requested at less than 7,000 miles!

SPX futures appear to have visited Shot-term support at 2833.27 this morning, but haven’t put up a challenge, yet. The sideways consolidation is over without making a new high. Now we must establish that a new downtrend has taken hold. All the Cyclical indicators say that the rally is over.
ZeroHedge reports, “For once it's not about trade wars... but the alternative is hardly better.
European stocks tumbled most in a month, following Asian shares lower following contagion fears that Turkey’s economic problems will spill over into the euro zone and beyond. The Euro sank, while the safe haven dollar advanced alongside Treasuries, with the 10Y back under 2.90%. The Turkish Lira initially plunged and fell 45 big figures, with the USDTRY hitting a record high of 6.3005, or up more than 11%, before holding below 6.0 for the bulk of the session.”

Since there are only so many resources available, many scientists question our ability to produce enough food to be able to sustain our population.
I think we are getting to the same point regarding the bears in the metals market. What invariably occurs within markets is that the more entrenched a trend becomes, the greater the number of believers in that trend grow. So, as a bull market hits its highs, with the great majority believing the rally will go on forever, there is no one left to continue to buy to push it even higher. That is why bull markets do not end because of selling, but, rather, a lack of buying. There are no more buyers to bring to the market since everyone has been converted into a buyer and those buyers simply run out of money.

The Forrest Gump of All Future Democrat Election Losses / Politics / US Politics

Julian Assange has received an letter from the US Senate asking him to testify in front of them. What to make of that is not entirely clear. Far as I know, Assange offered such testimony multiple times, under the ‘right standards’. The Senate ostensibly wants this to take place behind closed doors, and it’s hard to see how that would fit Assange’s standards. But who knows?
What struck me was that the letter was signed by Senators Richard Burr (R-NC) and Mark Warner (D-VA). and especially the latter runs like a red thread through everything that has to do with Assange and the US. It reminded me of what John Solomon said in his June 25 piece ‘How Comey Intervened To Kill Wikileaks’ Immunity Deal’ about Assange lawyer Adam Waldman, who according to Solomon has a ‘Forrest Gump-like penchant for showing up in major cases of intrigue’.
