US Dollar Outlook and What it Means for Gold / Commodities / Gold and Silver 2017
The US Dollar Index (USDI) bottomed in September a hair below 91.00 and has recently rallied up to 94. We were skeptical Gold would break its 2016 highs as it failed to show strong performance in the wake of the USDI’s decline to new lows. The market was discounting a coming rebound in the USDI and/or future weakness in Gold. In any event, although the USDI broke key levels which leave its bull market in question, it became quite oversold and was due for a sustained rebound.

Golden Age for GOLD, Dark Age for the Stock Market / Commodities / Gold and Silver 2017
I read that Christine Lagarde was out warning the world about the inherent risks in the global economy today.
It is all the more comical because she tempered her statement,
By saying that 2017 was on track to be the best year of the decade so far.
Well of course it is!
2007 was the best year of the decade before the last collapse happened.
1999 was a fantastic year before the dotcom bubble burst.
And I hear that 1928 was a stellar year, choc full of good news and great achievement!

It Would Take A 50% Hike in Income Tax to Fund Current US Budget Deficit / Interest-Rates / US Debt
The projected total US debt will be $30 trillion within 10 years, using the CBO’s own numbers. But the CBO also makes the rosy assumptions that there will be no recessions and that GDP will grow at a 4% nominal rate.
Now, that’s possible; I'm inclined to haircut it a bit.
If you asked me to bet the “over/under” on the debt in 2027, I would bet the over at $35 trillion.

Stock Market Excitement Builds As The Dow Reaches For The Sky / Stock-Markets / Stock Market 2017
By Mike Golembesky : The Dow Jones Industrial Average continued to move higher, having only one red close since the low that was struck on September 26th. Furthermore, the Dow has now broken through a key longer-term Fibonacci resistance level that we had been watching for quite some time at the 22,707 level.
So although the Dow is quite stretched at current levels, the pattern still does look incomplete, thus leaving us with no solid signal of a top being in place just yet.

What Happens When Amey Fells All of a Streets Trees (Sheffield Tree Fellings) - Video / Local / Sheffield
Once Upon a Time there was a Street Full of Tree's, then Amey Came! This is a story of what happened to 1 street that was purged by the Labour Sheffield City Council's PFI contractor Amey of all of its trees. That illustrates what is happening across the city to hundreds of Sheffield's biggest trees that soak up vehicle pollution and releasing oxygen into the streets, which is why they were planted in the first place typically over a 100 years ago to help clean up Sheffield's toxic air environment of that time which given the volume of traffic remains just as toxic now as it was then.

Tesla - Can A Company Be Great And A Great Short? / Companies / Electric Cars
One of the fascinating things about financial bubbles is how they transform great companies into screaming short sale candidates. Put another way, bear markets tend to throw even the prettiest babies out with the bathwater.
Here, for instance, is what happened to Cisco Systems, the dominant maker of networking gear (the devices that run the Internet) when the 1990s tech stock bubble burst, bankrupting many of its customers and causing its earnings to miss expectations. Its stock fell by more than three-fourths and those who had bought it during the previous year’s euphoria got hosed.

At the same time, noncommercial traders (“dumb money”) have a record number of long positions.

Your Pension Is a Lie: There’s $210 Trillion of Liabilities Our Government Can’t Fulfill / Politics / Pensions & Retirement
In the US, we have two national programs to care for the elderly. Social Security provides a small pension, and Medicare covers medical expenses. All workers pay taxes that supposedly fund the benefits we may someday receive.
The problem is that's not actually true. Neither of these programs is comprehensive.
