Stock Market Indexes Appear Ready to Roll Over / Stock-Markets / Stock Market 2017
The key to the markets is still the USD. The futures have hit 101.75 thus far this morning, which is a 55% retracement of the decline. The structure appears to be a Diagonal. Whether it is a Leading or Ending Diagonal is yet to be determined. Today it will have completed 8.6 days from its February 2 low.

Jim Rogers Reiterates His Call For A Crash Of Epic Proportions / Stock-Markets / Financial Crash
Last year we covered a number of big name investors’ warnings regarding the future of financial markets. Many had quite a stark view including George Soros’ Quantum Fund co-founder, Jim Rogers.
This past May, Rogers had such a dismal outlook that he warned “A $68 trillion ‘Biblical’ collapse is poised to wipe out millions of Americans.”

The Stock Trader’s Actionable Guide to Trump / Stock-Markets / Investing 2017
There are aspects to Trump’s public comments that concern me. He says stuff that makes me sit up and take notice, especially on the military front.
Yet, rather than blindly accepting the “news” that best supports my biases, I try to view each new Trump “event” objectively.
By contrast, the progressives/liberals unfailingly fall for every bit of click-bait that reinforces their view that Trump is a detestable, woman-hating, earth killer and the epitome of a capitalist pig.

The Stocks Bull Market No One Believes In / Stock-Markets / Stock Market 2017
The stock market continues to make new highs, yet none of the signs which accompany a market bubble are evident. Investors are asking, “When will the Dow finally correct?” By “correct” they mean “decline.” However, a market correction doesn’t always entail a decline for the major averages and can sometimes take the form of a lateral consolidation or trading range. That appears to be the case for the 2-month period from December through early February when the Dow and S&P made little headway.

This Is Why You Don’t Own A Lot Of Stocks / Stock-Markets / Stock Market 2017
You’d think that by now every relevant measure of stock market overvaluation would have been converted into a chart and circulated throughout the blogosphere. But Zero Hedge has come up with a new one depicting how long the typical wage slave has to work to buy the typical stock. And – surprise – it shows historic, egregious overvaluation which, if history is any guide, implies a crash is close at hand.

Stock Market is Playing Pied Piper / Stock-Markets / Stock Market 2017
SPX is approaching its next Cyclical hourly interval at 64.5 hours. I went back to see what I may have missed and the obvious item is the Wave relationship where Wave 5 seeks equality with the length of Wave 1. That occurs at 2332.13. The match does not have to be exact. A near miss or a slight overshoot can happen.
The Cycle Top support is now at 2313.50. That may be used as an advance warning of a probable trend change.

Stock Market VIX Cycles set to Explode in March/April 2017 – Part 2 / Stock-Markets / Stock Market 2017
Previously, I authored a “Part 1” of this article regarding my analysis of the VIX cycles. I sincerely hope my readers enjoyed the analysis and I hope it opened up a few questions regarding the potential moves in the US and global markets. Today, we will delve deeper into the concept of the VIX cycle patterns that I’ve identified and use common technical analysis concepts to attempt to identify price target levels as well as support and resistance that may become important in the immediate future.

Lindsay Stock Market 12-year Low / Stock-Markets / Stock Market 2017
As often noted, the first step in a Lindsay forecast is determining the long-term intervals; 15yr (15yr-15yr, 11mo) for highs and 12yr (12yr, 2mo-12yr, 8mo) for lows. Counting a 12yr interval from point B of Lindsay's Long Cycle on 3/7/05 forecasts a significant low in the period May-November 2017. However, the 1/3/17 Market Update laid out a forecast for a significant high (using both a 15yr interval and Basic Movements) in the period April-August 2017. And to further confuse things, a Three Peaks/Domed House pattern - combined with a Hybrid Lindsay forecast - seem to be pointing to a high within hours of now. How do we reconcile all of this?

Stock Market at High Tide / Stock-Markets / Stock Market 2017
Current Position of the Market
SPX Long-term trend: If the market strength persists, the long-term trend may need to be re-evaluated.
SPX Intermediate trend: SPX intermediate P&F count to the 2300 level has been reached. A reversal should now occur.
Analysis of the short-term trend is done on a daily-basis with the help of hourly charts. It is an important adjunct to the analysis of daily and weekly charts which discuss longer market trends.

The New Retirement – Big Pill To Swallow! / Stock-Markets / Financial Markets 2017
President Donald J. Trump was elected the 45th President of the United States to preside over the largest debt collapse ever in U.S. history. During this four-year term, he and his administration will be most feared and hated president there ever was. The odds are stacked high against his ideology of “Making America Great Again” during his term in office.

SPX Stock Market 1-year Anniversary New Highs / Stock-Markets / Stock Market 2017
The market started the week at SPX 2297. After a pullback to SPX 2289 on Monday, the market rallied to SPX 2299 on Tuesday. Wednesday’s pullback took the SPX to 2285. Then the market rallied to all-time new highs on Thursday/Friday. For the week the SPX/DOW gained 0.90%, and the NDX/NAZ gained 1.25%. Economic reports for the week were split. On the downtick: consumer credit/sentiment, import prices and the Q1 GDP estimate. On the uptick: wholesale inventories, export prices, treasury budget, plus the trade deficit and weekly jobless claims improved. Next week’s reports will be highlighted by FED chair Yellen’s semiannual monetary policy report to Congress, industrial production and retail sales. Best to your week!

Moving Stock Market Targets: Investors Need to Discriminate! / Stock-Markets / Stock Market 2017
In the current political climate herds are running every which way. There is the anti-Trump herd, the pro-Trump herd, the liberal herd, the conservative herd, the CNBC herd, the mainstream financial services industry herd, the Armstrong herd, the gold bug herd... and there are all those ideologies in play. But robotic thinking, unless it is in service to profitable trades like this one on an excellent company providing automation (ref. recent Fanuc NFTRH+ highlight), does not pay (disclaimer: I've sold and taken the profit).
So stop right there! These are the financial markets, and if you have not checked your deepest held beliefs, your virtue, your bigotry and in general, your bias at the door you are going to lose.

SPX is Testing the Trendline / Stock-Markets / Stock Market 2017
Good Morning!
SPX futures are marginally higher, but appear not to have broken above the trendline. The futures have not broken above yesterday’s high, so there is one technically bearish sign.
ZeroHedge writes, “S&P futures rose further into record territory, European shares rose to within striking distance of their highest levels in more than a year while bonds fell and the dollar rose as investors cheered a surge in Chinese trade data amid hopes of "phenomenal" tax cuts by Donald Trump, all of which have rekindled the Trumpflation trade.”

Stock Market Very Solid Session / Stock-Markets / Stock Market 2017
The stock market indices had an up-day today, and a strong one, particularly by midday, making new all-time highs across the board. The day started out with a pop to the upside, a little pullback, and then they ran, the Nasdaq 100 going from 5197 to 5221, a new all-time high. In the afternoon, they came down to 5209, and bounced back to 5222, but couldn’t hold it, and backed off to 5212. The S&P 500 started out with a pop, and kept on running, reaching as high as 2320, a new all-time high, and backed off to 2307. All three indices came down slightly at the end of the day, but still closed in the green column.

Stock Market VIX Cycles Set to Explode in March/April 2017 / Stock-Markets / Volatility
My recent analysis of the markets has shown what I believe to be an explosion in market volatility set to starting happening between February 21, 2017 and March 30, 2017. The historical VIX cycles have been running about 18~22 week intervals for expansion and extreme volatility levels. The period August 2015 to January 2016 represented roughly 5 months. The period between January 2016 to June 2016 represented roughly 5 months. The period between June 2016 to Early November 2016 represented roughly 5 months (just a little short of 5 months in reality).

SPX Reaches the Top of its Diagonal Pattern / Stock-Markets / Stock Market 2017
The problem that I have with zigzags is…at which degree are we viewing it? The zigzag to 2300.99 is a completed one, but at a Minute degree, while Waves 1 through 3 are at a Minor degree. Today’s final surge brings the pattern into agreement. While Wave [a] is larger than [c], a common relationship, Wave [c] is a Fibonacci 61.8% of Wave [a], which is the alternate relationship that we look for.
Today is 17.55 months from the August 24, 2015 low. That is, 10.75 days over 17.2 months. That is a close enough tolerance to suggest that the long-term uptrend may be over.

Major Money Managers Have A Grim Outlook For The US Stock Market / Stock-Markets / Stock Market 2017
